David Beckham – One last move in a glittering soccer career

Here around Europe it is football transfer deadline day, the last chance clubs have of signing up new talent for their clubs before the end of the season. David Beckham has signed on the dotted line for French super club Paris St Germain, so he will be off with his kids and Victoria to Paris for a final swansong. Think about it, he hasn’t done bad for an East London lad, has he? From Manchester United, probably the most famous club in the world to Real Madrid, to Milan to play for AC, Los Angeles and the Galaxy, playing and being captain for England of course and now to Paris to finish off an incredible career. Add in being an ambassador for the London Olympics, fashion icon, model, and through it all he has kept his image clean cut and I have never heard him say a bad word about anyone. How does he do it and what is he like? Lets have a quick look at his horoscope.

 

David was born in East London on 2nd May 1975 at 06.17 (according to Astro databank) and is a Sun Taurus and Ascendant with a late Capricorn Moon. As you may be able to tell just from these three indicators, this is a man who keeps his feet firmly on terra firma, is very ambitious and is able to build and build on that ambition through determination and steady application. That Moon in his 10th house, conjunct to his Midheaven is trine to his Ascendant, to his energy to acquire. Taureans always want a comfortable lifestyle and this comes through his career ambitions (Capricorn Moon/Midheaven), having control of his image and his way doing things (Moon in 10th) and his physical attributes (Ascendant). Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty, so no wonder with this Taurus Ascendant and Venus at the end of his 1st house and on the cusp of his 2nd that he was blessed with good looks. That Venus affects his 2nd house of personal finance bringing him fortune in this department of life as well as showing that he would make money through the way he appeared. Venus squares to Mars the planet of sport, indicating that this would also be an avenue to fund a comfortable way of living. This square between Mars and Venus indicates a warmly romantic streak that lies within David, and it provides a strong attraction to the opposite sex.

Mars in Pisces does present a dreamy sexuality and a compassionate and vulnerable side that I guess women pick up on very strongly. This is a placement which is very gentle and non-aggressive, and that was never David’s style of play, being far more the creative type of footballer. Sitting in the 11th house, this shows David to be very much the team player, someone who will play for the benefit of the whole and not just for himself. Saturn forms a trine to Mars bringing a link again between career and sport as well as great determination and energy. He has always been very loyal not only to his family but also to the fans and for whoever he plays, giving his all in a no nonsense manner. I guess that’s why football fans appreciate him so much. Mars receives a square from Neptune the planet of inspiration and vision, and this is a key to him being a great technician on the pitch, he could strike a ball from far away and put it on a sixpence, a rare talent which needed the vision that only Mars conjunct Neptune square to Neptune could give.

Neptune sits in his 7th house of marriage and so it would only be a dream girl, or in his case a singing star in Victoria (Neptune rules music) that could have persuaded him into a permanent relationship. Leo rules his 5th house of children as well as sport, so David will be very proud of and dearly love his children and he will give them as much love as he can. Leo adores the limelight, so just as he is in the spotlight in football, he will encourage his children to follow him into showing off their talents too.

Jupiter and Pluto oppose in this chart, Jupiter in Aries in the 12th house and Pluto in the 6th of everyday routine. This shows David as a workaholic, able to get his nose to the grindstone, and through all this hard work, benefits come. This opposition focuses via a trine from Jupiter and a sextile from Pluto onto his inspirational 7th house Neptune which  represents his wife, and through this wedge formation you can see that his huge wealth (Jupiter/Pluto) and international (Jupiter) fame and power (Pluto) has been influenced in some part by the actions of his wife (Neptune), who pushed him to create his image and create his mystique (Neptune). Uranus the planet of independence and unique talent sits in his 6th house of routine and health makes a square to his Moon and Midheaven, which brings a spark of genius to everything he does. His life will have to be spontaneous and exciting as must be his everyday work with plenty of variety, a normal 9 to 5 job would never suit him. Uranus is associated with cool glitz and glamour, something which is so attractive but yet almost untouchable. That is David career in a nutshell so far. 

He is a quiet individual, not a great speaker and this is due to Mercury and his Sun sitting away in his hidden 12th house. This is a part of his life that he has had to develop, especially as Saturn sits in the 3rd house of communication too. Eventually, Saturn teaches you how to communicate effectively, but it takes a long time to master. I remember early on in his career, David was rather shy if even timid in talking to the  TV cameras reflecting the 12th house instinct not to open up. Neptune quindecile to both Mercury and the Ascendant soften the personality and the way one communicates and brings an uncertainty, at least until one gains confidence. With the Sun in the 12th house at the point of a mini grand trine to both Mars and Saturn, I can see David staying in sport once he hangs up his boots and moving into a more behind the scenes administrative role with in the game, maybe as a senior representative for the English Football Association, a role I think he would be perfect for. David with Cancer covering his 4th house will be hugely patriotic and will love his home life and mother, and a role in service, promoting his country and the sport he loves fits the bill of this mini grand trine focused on the 12th house Sun.

David’s final move of his career comes as transiting Saturn now at 11 degrees Scorpio, the planet ruling his Midheaven makes a direct and exact opposition to his natal Sun at 11 Taurus. Transiting Jupiter is moving through his 1st house now which brings him optimism and fortune, and it is now trine to his 6th house Pluto, so another big payday and contract is coming his way. Lucky David. I say lucky, but he would not have got anywhere and may have stayed in his native East London, had it not been for his exploitation of the natural talent he possessed and sheer hard work that he has put in over the years. Fair play to him for that, and it shows that we can all achieve some of our dreams if we make the most of what we have.

It’s reported that David is going to play for free in Paris and his salary will go to a local French children’s charity. Isn’t that wonderful? It shows on his chart too as his Sun being opposed by Saturn sits in the 12th house of charities and the Sun rules his 5th house of children. It was a natural choice for him to make, as quite frankly he doesn’t need the money. All in all, its’ a deal that suits everyone. Beckham gets to play in the Champions’ League for a final time, the charity gets a lovely gesture and the kids will benefit and Victoria has all the wonderful fashion boutiques in Paris to visit :)

Mars conjunct Neptune - Providing a little bit of inspiration, or deception…

Mars is now rapidly getting close to a conjunction with Neptune, it actually occurs on 4th February but the initial effects of this conjunction will be felt already. This is one of those aspects that you never know how it is going to affect you, whether it's going to promote positive or unfortunate effects.

We have the planet of action of force making a connection with the planet of dreams, imagination, escapism and deception. Quite a mixed bag there as you may be able to understand. On a positive note, this conjunction stimulates us to act on our ideals, that which we dream and long for. In an artistic manner, Mars conjunct Neptune is charismatic and inspirational, great for using your imagination to solve any issue, and I also think it can promote a more mystic and psychic atmosphere, one where you become more receptive to the moods swirling around you. This is a wonderful aspect for helping others, being active in aiding the suffering, being charitable or of service to those who need help.

All well and good, but Neptune has a much darker side too. The conjunction can encourage wrong doing, slight of hand, it can deceive us into believing that fantasy is actually real. Neptune's connection to alcohol, drugs and illegal practices is given a boost now, so be careful not to engage in something that you didn't plan to get yourself into. The chances of this happening are quite high, seeing as this conjunction will be square to expansive Jupiter, breeding false confidence and optimism. My advice to to keep your feet firmly on the ground and your wits about you for the time being.

Neptune rules water, gas and noxious substances and this is possibly while Israel has used force (Mars) this morning in a pre-emptive strike against a Syrian chemical (Neptune) research plant, as according to the BBC it fears chemical based weapons falling into enemy Palestinian hands. Smoke and mirrors or a real threat? Under Mars conjunct Neptune, you never really know.

This conjunction has two parts to it as Mars makes it's initial contact on approach while in Aquarius, before making the actual contact in Pisces. It suggest to me a harder more severe edge it it during the Mars in Aquarius phase, before the softer more imaginative but deceptive side takes hold as Mars enters Pisces...

As I mentioned at the outset, with Neptune and Mars, you get a real concoction of influences happening, and it is difficult for any astrologer to get a correct interpretation on this one. Much the best to use your instincts which are heightened by these planets to see your way though the mist that is descending...

A personal message…

A quick thank you to the thousands and thousands of readers and astrology fans that have visited my blog and website “Solaris Astrology” over the past 23 months. I have been overwhelmed by the incredible response and the love that my work here has brought me. From small and humble beginnings, I am starting to build quite a strong and loyal following, and now that that Jupiter has joined all the planets in direct motion, I want to make an extra push to increase the amount of people that visit my blog, website and Facebook pages. 

To this end I need your help, so please could you all spread the word on the work that I am trying to do here on “Solaris Astrology” in sharing what I do with your friends, colleagues and anyone else you know who loves this wonderful subject. My aim has always been to try to educate, to inform and to enlighten everyone that properly done Astrology really is a fascinating subject that touches us all throughout our lives from our birth to our grave. For too long us Astrologers have had a raw deal from the general public who fail to understand the complexities of what we really do. Now with technology and internet age moving faster and faster, I believe that Astrology is coming into it’s own again. Saturn conjunct Acrux - Reconstructing that which has gone before.

Not many star to planet connections this week but we do have the start of a long term connection which will last until 14th March. Saturn is now in conjunction with the fixed star Acrux, the brightest star in the constellation of Crux, the Southern Cross and I think it is an important one.

Now despite the picture we have here, there are no religious connections surrounding this star, no this is more to do with the physical connotations of the cross. The cross is a strong stable structure, and at the heart of any astrological chart which I study is a cross. From 1st house to 4th, 7th house to 10th, the angular houses of the chart are the most important. They describe our body and physical presence (Ascendant), out foundation and roots (IC), where we encounter other people (Descendant) and our pubic persona (Midheaven). On the astrological chart, the soul meets this physical world we live in and the planets and other bodies describe our journey through it. Acrux represents the physical world I describe, the resources we need for the soul to complete it's mission.

Saturn the great teacher reaching this star challenges the structure of the cross, tests the stability of the structures we have built. If they are strong, then they will survive Saturn's visit and may be yet strengthened, but if they are really weak or flawed, then we will have to rebuild. On a more personal level, Saturn is running the rule over a part of your life. If he doesn’t like what he sees right now, he may change the rules to make sure we comply to his standards. As the Southern Cross constellation sits within the boundaries of Scorpio, we have a a focus here on the structures of big business, of financial institutions, on handling other people's money and possessions, even death and rebirth. These are the targets of Saturn in particular now, aided and abetted by it's long term sextile to Scorpio's ruler Pluto. If ever we are going to see financial restructuring to combat the excesses of the corruption that lead to the crash of the markets in the past 5 years, now will be the time, however this is a double hit as Saturn turns on Acrux and will return for a second bite of the cherry in October 2013 when it's work in this part of the sky will be complete. As such we may see the initial plans set out now, before action is taken later on in the year.

As for you how might this conjunction affect you, just look to the Scorpio house on your chart and this point will be a point of "potential" transformation or strengthening, the structure of your life which could be altered here by Saturn's visit, especially if you have any planets or angles at 12 degrees Scorpio (Acrux's position). For example, if the point 12 Scorpio in your second house, then you can expect some transformation in the way you handle money, in the 4th in your home life and family may be affected by major changes, in the 7th a relationship may need some work done to it, in your 10th your work life may see a drastic change or maybe an improvement. Remember, Saturn will only have a detrimental effect if this area of your life is already weak and unstable. This first hit is like a surveyor assessing a building before the construction (or demolition) guys move in to do their thing. By the time we reach October 2013 that is when you will be able to see the full effects of Saturn's work.

Pisces Rising – February 2013

During the month of February, the Sun is transiting through Aquarius, the sign that occupies your hidden 12th house, before crossing your ascendant and emerging into your 1st house of the self. For you, this is approaching the end of the solar cycle and subconsciously you will want to withdraw away for a while and you may find trusting others rather difficult. In the same way, you will prefer to keep your thoughts and opinions to yourself now. Venus is also going to be in the 12th, house so in a social sense you will be hiding away a little and not going out and enjoying yourself as you normally would. This is a time when you will be drawn to help others; your husband or wife or your partner may need you to make some sacrifices on their behalf and you will be in a selfless mood to accede to their wishes. Beware of not falling into the trap of aiding people to get some kind of reward in return, as firstly you will not receive one and secondly this can prove totally counter-productive and ultimately annoying to them in the process. Venus makes a lovely trine to Jupiter on the 7th, a wonderfully generous and charitable influence and one where you really can make a difference to someone in need. The new Moon on the 10th also arrives in your 12th house, urging you to step back from everything around you and to reflect what really is going on in your life.

Mercury and Mars by contrast will be moving through your first house allowing you to focus on yourself and express you own personal views to everyone around you. You will be portraying a slightly independent side now, so working with other people may prove quite problematic and you may find it more to your advantage if for now on projects and things you want to do, you go it alone. You will now feel far more self-assertive too and ready to take on the world, but be careful your actions and words don't upset those around you, as you are likely to be more selfish than normal. As a result, your personal relationships may well be put under some strain, as you will fail to see or accept your partner's points of view. Mercury turns tail on the 23rd and begins a retrograde period and this will be focused on the self. Are you happy with your appearance and how you look? Is the image you are portraying to the rest of the world the right one? Are you expressing yourself correctly? Look inside and more than likely you will find the answers sitting there to restoring some long-needed self-belief.

The movements of Jupiter and Saturn are very much highlighted in February 2013 as Jupiter changes direction and turns direct in Gemini and Saturn stations on 18th February in Scorpio before moving retrograde. Jupiter is in your 4th house of domestic affairs, the family and women including your mother so if you have been putting off any domestic plans or improvements, you can now start thinking about them. Benefits can be derived from property, land and real estate now. Help and assistance can and will come from family members or your mother now, and generally the atmosphere at home should be quite settled and happy. Saturn is passing through your 9th house of knowledge, learning, faith, the law, travel and international links, adjusting your beliefs and challenging you to look at life in a different manner. Maybe during this retrograde period you will encounter people of faith or knowledge who will inspire you or teach you valuable lessons? International travel that you are compelled to make may change your perspectives now or you might be offered the chance to go on a work or educational course. In some way Saturn will be urging you to learn new skills and to meet different types of people.

Aquarius Rising – February 2013

During the first three weeks of the month, your Sun will be moving through your first house allowing you to focus on yourself and express you own personal views to everyone around you, something that does come very natural to you most of the time. If this is proving quite problematic and you are getting opposition from other people, you may find it more to your advantage if for now on projects and things you want to do, you go it alone. This can also be a time when your personal relationships are put under some strain, as you may fail to see or accept your love partner's points of view. Luckily Venus is also going to be in your 1st house to soften your mood a little. This will certainly be a good time to be around friends instead, and to enjoy life to the full with them. Your appearance and how you look will be of great importance now, so you may make more of a conscious effort to appear stylish and attractive to others. The new Moon on the 10th makes you extra self conscious and maybe a little vain, however a day later Venus makes a square to Saturn and a boss, your father or someone in a senior position may lay down the law to you at this time bringing you back down to earth with a bump.

Mercury and Mars find themselves progressing through your 2nd house for most of this month. This is generally a good time for business and financial transactions, so shopping trips and sorting out your personal finances will be high on your agenda. Indeed you will be in a rather impulsive mood, more self-confident and more likely to spend too much money, but it will fun while your money lasts. Your need to have and acquire possessions is now strong and you will tend to identify yourself with them, to the irritation of others if you are too arrogant. Mercury slows down through the month and stations on the 23rd February before moving retrograde. The full Moon on the 25th in Virgo may also focus on finances of the shared kind as it hits in your 8th house. Maybe you will have taken one financial risk too many lately, and so you may be required to borrow in order to keep your finances on an even keel, either from your partner or from a lender or bank.

Now in February, Jupiter and Saturn are changing direction, Jupiter still in Gemini finally goes direct at the start of the month and on the 18th February Saturn currently moving through Scorpio turns retrograde. Jupiter at the moment is residing in your 5th house of sport and entertainment, children, affairs of the heart and individual creativity and these parts of your life will now be open to expansion. Joy will be had from your children if you have any, and if you don’t the expansive and optimistic energy of Jupiter may encourage you to make one!! This is a perfect time to work on any artistic ideas, take up new hobbies or sports, and to show your individual flair and talents. Jupiter favours affairs of the heart now, and anyone coming into you life that you may get involved with may bring fun and or maybe even international links. Saturn is in your 10th house of career, public perception and your father so now is a time when you will seriously looking at your work role and working out where things can be improved over the longer term. Maybe discussions with your boss or employer can aid you now in helping you to go in the right direction? Your father or other senior people can be an invaluable source of advice in this. Capricorn Rising – February 2013

The Sun is moving through your 2nd house during February, thus issues of money finances and the things in life that you find valuable and precious will be important and on your mind. This includes you own personal possessions that you may want to show off to others; you may indeed have the impulse to go out and purchase or acquire something that will make you feel better. Sharing your own values and ideals to others is fine, but remember you can go too far and become overbearing, so try and remember to be more humble and moderate in any actions. This is generally a good time for business and financial transactions, so shopping trips and sorting out your personal finances will be on your agenda. Venus is also passing through the second house so you will tend to attract more money to yourself, but then again as soon as it is in your hands you will be sorely tempted to spend it. You may want to show off by buying a new car or treating yourself to new clothes, whatever makes you feel internally better. If you are investing now, your judgement should be good and any financial negotiations should progress quite smoothly. The new Moon on the 10th will very much highlight these themes. The pace of life will quicken now with letters, invitations, phone calls, emails and short trips all taking up your time. This is a great time for promoting your ideas, for advertising and selling, so long as you are not too demanding of others in the process.

Mercury and Mars are moving this month in your 3rd house and as a result your life will enter a more social phase where the matters of your local environment, your neighbours, community issues and education issues become more important. This is a time when you will not be able to relax at all, but you may well get to know people and neighbours in your local environment more amicably. The pace of life will quicken quite considerably, with letters, invitations, phone calls, emails and short trips all taking up your time. This is a great period for promoting your ideas and views, for advertising and selling, so long as you are not too aggressive in the process. In short, this may be the beginning of a very frustrating few weeks. The full Moon on the 25th strikes in your 9th house so this could well be a time when your own personal beliefs and manner of living may be tested by someone at work, a doctor, health worker or by someone with whom you have regular contact. If you are travelling, please try to be respectful of local laws and customs, as your exuberance and sense of adventure may get you into trouble.

Jupiter and Saturn take centre stage in February as they both start working in a different manner. Jupiter finally turns direct in Gemini and Saturn turns to move retrograde on 18th February in Scorpio. Jupiter is to be found in your 6th house of routine, daily work and health so your attitude to work colleagues will be open and optimistic and doing those horrid mundane tasks that just have to be done will not bother you now in the slightest. Jupiter brings a rather relaxed attitude to health and fitness, so you may be rather prone to gaining a few pounds or kilos and not having the inclination to work it off afterwards. Be careful not to ignore any aches and pains now, as they may indicate some health problems that you should really investigate. This is the house of animals and pets, so you may feel that it would be time to get a furry friend to share your life with. Saturn is found in your 11th house of friends, groups, hopes and fears. You may be assessing the suitability and helpfulness of your friends now and of associations that you are a member of to see whether they are really helping you along to meet your goals. Indeed, this may be a time to look at your ambitions and intentions and work out if you really are going in the right direction?

For you Sagittarius, the Sun is passing though your 3rd and latterly your 4th houses so you will experience a busy first three weeks of the month when you will be running around doing errands around your local area and you may be forever on the go dealing with phone calls & emails - the pace of life may be quite hectic. You may get to know people in your local area including your neighbours quite a bit more during this time. This is a great time to start some type of new studies, as your mind will be bright and alert. Venus early in February moves into your 3rd house of communications too. Venus is the planet of love, so why not tell the people around you that you do love and appreciate them; spread a little love around your local area & you'll feel good for doing so. Trips to explore the beauty of your local surroundings may be enjoyable and well worth doing. The New Moon on 10th February may focus issues on brothers and sisters, on transport, education, neighbours, paperwork or messages you receive.

Mercury will in Pisces for most of the month moving through your 4th house, so your thoughts and emotions will also be drawn to what is happening at home. Domestic situations and matters involving your parents will take up more and more of your time. This is you in a more reflective mood, and you will be drawn to assess things that happened in the past. Events that affected you deeply in previous years will need to be analysed so that you can work out why they happened in order that you can solve any current problems or issues in your life. Mercury’s conjunction in or around the 6th February may make you extra sentimental now and very dreamy and forgetful in the process. For you, the Sun in the first three weeks of the month will be passing through your 5th house of children and creativity and for you this time of year is normally great fun. The Sun is very settled here and whether you are socialising or being creative, playing sport or engaging with children, life will seem quite light hearted and the more weighty and serious issues facing you will melt away for a while. Into the last third of the month and the Sun passes into the your 6th house and as this happens you will concentrate more on your work, routine and the state of your health. Venus spends most of the month in your 5th house too, so life will be more fun than it recently has been and you should be in an excellent mood. This is a time when you can enjoy yourself thoroughly, socialize with friends and no doubt you will have a great time if you get chance to go out to any sports or entertainment events. Relationships with the one you love will be fulfilling and romantic however beware of hurting your love one on 10th or 11th February. Saturn makes a nasty square to Venus and arguments and hurt over the most trivial f things could ensue. This month sees the Sun and Venus passing through your 6th house and into your 7th so much of your energy early on in the month will be focused on issues of everyday work, routine and health before the matter of relationships come into sight. Much of your energies early in February will be aimed at doing whatever you have to do correctly and efficiently. You may have to serve to someone else's wishes be it your boss or a customer or client that you have to deal with. Your focus will be very much on work and routine matters, and as a result your partner may complain from a lack of attention from you. At work however, thing should be going smoothly with your co-workers and your boss, simply because of the amount of graft that you are putting in. Health wise, you should also be ok, although you may find yourself putting on the odd pound or kilogram as Venus loosens your desire to diet and to take up exercise.

Mercury and Mars’ position moving most of the month through the 7th house allows you to discuss through any potential issues that is affecting your relationship. Now is a time not to go it alone in any project and having a partner or someone to help you will aid you to succeed in any ventures. Business deals and agreements can be entered into with a degree of confidence, as you will be in a mood to examine any issues in a careful and thorough manner. Relations with your spouse or permanent partner could be fun but tense and prone to arguments.
