Mars conjunct Pluto on Facies - Acting without worrying about the consequences

This aspect is active now and effective until 29th November 2012

Mars now is starting to conjunct with the fixed star Facies in Sagittarius, the nebula which represents the penetrating stare of the archer. Nebulae throughout history have been tied to lack of sight and blindness, and Facies seems to impart a type of blindness against the consequences of one's actions. When a planet gets here, it seems to run headlong into situations without fear or regret. I think that Mars, the planet of force and speed is given extra impetus by the conjunction. Mars here is pro-active, brave and reckless, pioneering but possibly foolishly so.

It is interesting that a 140 car pile up occurred in fog on Thanksgiving Day in thick fog in Texas, and this exactly explains what this conjunction on Facies is all about. Running headlong into a situation where you can't see properly, and huge destruction occurs. Pluto also has an underground and secret side to it, so it may be that plans of action in a police or military sense are occurring right now that few people know about. There is also a really dark and sexual nature to this conjunction too. Inhibitions will be let go over the next few days due to this very potent influence in the heavens.

This is a bit of a fearsome combination that can be used just as well for good intentions as for evil ones and if you can harness and control the energy here, you can make huge strides in whatever you are doing. The ruthless edge of this combination can sweep any opposition in your line of fire completely out of the way...

This is a trigger happy combination for sure, so handle this conjunction with great care...

As Mercury enters Sagittarius and makes a trine to Uranus on 14th, you will start to look to see how you can progress your career in the early months of 2013. During the month of December, the Sun is transiting through Sagittarius and your hidden 12th house, before crossing your ascendant and emerging into your own rising sign and your 1st house of the self. For you, this is the end of the solar cycle and subconsciously you will want to withdraw away for a while and you may find trusting others rather difficult. Sagittarius Rising – December 2012

This month, the Sun is travelling through your 1st house, which should see you more assertive than has been the case in November, which saw you in a more insular and reflective mood. You will want to assert you own individuality, ideas and opinions on other people a bit more, however you should be careful not to be too selfish or overbearing in doing this. The Sun makes an opposition to Jupiter across your 1st and 7th house axis and you can run the risk of upsetting those you love or work with now because of your more self-righteous nature. Try to remember some moderation now to keep things in balance.

Mercury begins the month in your 12th house of service and seclusion before is moving through your first house. Initially as we enter December, you will be in a rather reflective mood, however on the 11th as Mercury enters Sagittarius, it forms a square to Neptune as it does. Be careful to double-check any paperwork you are working on and any messages that you receive, as they could be misleading. As Mercury enters you first house you will become more aware and objective allowing you to focus on yourself, and encouraging you to express you own personal views to everyone around you. The Sun is moving through your 2nd house through the first three weeks of December, so issues of money finances and the things in life that you find valuable and precious will be important to you. This includes you own personal possessions that you may want to show off to others; you may indeed have the impulse to go out and purchase or acquire something that will make you feel better, especially on or around the 3rd as the Sun opposes Jupiter. Sharing your own values and ideals to others is fine, but remember you can go too far and become overbearing and rather obnoxious, so try and remember to be more humble and moderate in your actions. This is generally a good time for business and financial transactions, so shopping trips and sorting out your personal finances will be on your agenda. The New Moon in Sagittarius on 13th elaborates on and strengthens these themes. In the last week of December, life will get busy as local issues, neighbours as well as your brothers and sisters all take your attention.

In the first week of December, Mercury is passing through your 1st house so you will be feeling quite assertive and your will be quite tempted to express your views rather forthrightly. Libra Rising – December 2012

The Sun for you this month is passing through your 3rd house of local affairs, communication, education and brothers and sisters. As such, there will be a lot of running around for you to do in December, short trips to make, and correspondence to attend to, your social life and diary could get quite full. The Sun opposes Jupiter on 3rd December and you may try to impose your views or beliefs on those around you. This is a hugely optimistic time when you will think you are right on all matters. The new Moon on 13th echoes these themes and prompts you to learn something new, be it educational or maybe by visiting some local places of interest.

Mercury is moving for the first week of December in your 2nd house of money and finance and these matters will concern you before it moves into Sagittarius and your 3rd house. As a result of this switch, your life will enter a more social phase. This is a time when you will not be able to relax at all, but you may well get to know people and neighbours in your local environment in a more amicable way and you may do a lot of running around making short trips and journeys for them. For you Virgo Rising, your Sun is moving in your 4th house of family and domestic affairs so matters at home will be prominent. The Sun opposes Jupiter on the 3rd bringing an optimism to your thoughts and actions at work and home. You can be over-confident now, so be careful of making sure that you keep an eye on the details of whatever you are doing at home or at work as you may have a tendency to overlook them, something you are normally very good at. Be mindful not to promise more than you can deliver, especially to friends, groups and clubs. The new Moon on the 13th is in your 5th house and is very expressive and fun. If you have any personal projects in the pipeline or ambitions that you want to try and fulfil, be they related to hobbies, games or sports, arts and crafts, then now would be a perfect time to have a try.

Mercury is moving from your 4th house into the 5th in December, so from discussing and being heavily involved with family issues which will be important to you in early December, you will want to express your own ideas more creatively in the second half of the month. Cancer Rising – December 2012

This month sees the Sun passing through your 6th house, so much of your energy early on in the month will be focused on issues of everyday work, routine and health before the matter of relationships come into sight at the end of the month. Your prime motivations now will be aim to do whatever you have to do in a correct and efficient manner. It is possible that you could have to serve to someone else's wishes, be it your boss, a customer or a client. Your health and physical well being is very important to you now, and you will make sure that you have the best diet and you are in the best shape that you can be. Any ailments may worry you, so if you are concerned, please go and get professional advice. On the 3rd the Sun makes an opposition to Jupiter moving in your 12th house. This is a very generous opposition and you may be moved to help someone in need, or make a donation to a charity you hold dear to your heart.

Mercury begins the month in your 5th house, and mentally this is a light hearted time and one where you will find any challenges stimulating, the actions of children educational to you and talking and communicating with the one you love joyous. As Mercury moves into Sagittarius it makes a square to Neptune on 11th December. This dreamy square can cause confusion and misunderstandings and even deception, especially in matters affecting children, lovers and affairs of the heart. Venus makes a trine to Uranus on 19th and the urge to try or do something out of the ordinary may come across you now. This could be a romantic gesture or even something public and unexpected. The temptation to spend your money on the most unusual items could also be on the cards.

Mars is in your 7th house, so relations in your marriage or with business associates through this month could be somewhat “lively”. You will be in an assertive mood, but make sure this positive attitude doesn’t turn into anger and spite, especially against employers.

Gemini Rising souls like yourself will find that relationships will be very much on your agenda in December. The Sun is passing through your 7th house for most of the month, your house of partnerships, so one to one dealings with business associates or matters that you have to sort out with your permanent partner or your spouse will be prominent in your life now. Generally you will be in an optimistic mood with Jupiter moving through your 1st house, and that jovial side of you will be reflected onto your partner and the ones you love. On the 3rd, the Sun opposes Jupiter which emphasises this fun and confident spirit, however the old saying goes that “pride can come before a fall”. Just be careful in not being too over confident in whatever you are doing, accidents can happen. The New Moon on the 13th in Sagittarius highlights these same issues. Possibly a new joint venture or an idea to work with someone may start to form in your consciousness.

Mercury starts December in your 6th house and you will be pre-occupied with work, routine and health, the more mundane things in life. Taurus Rising – December 2012

For those of you with Taurus rising, the Sun this month is moving through your 8th house of sharing and dealing with other people’s finances and you may find that you have to spend time with issues of debt and working out who owns what to whom. You may have to put your mind to matters of debt or you may have to work through issues with big business, especially around the 3rd December as Jupiter makes an opposition to the Sun. Beware, as your spending could get out of control now.

Mercury begins December in your 7th house so you can improve partnerships and one to one relationships by chatting and communicating with the one you love and with business associates. It’s good to talk, you know. Intimate relations begin to be on your mind as Mercury moves back into your 8th house on 11th December. The effect of Mercury passing through here may be quite significant. You may long for something to make your life complete, but the object of your desire may be part or fully owned by someone else. Be aware that jealousy can surface from nowhere and can cause all amounts problems, so battles for control of resources can prove upsetting. Subjects like life after death and the unexplained could also fascinate you now. Mercury makes a fire trine to imaginative Uranus on 13th and your mind will be alive and whirring around this time, although you may not be able to concentrate on any one thing, as you may be living on your nerves. Just before we end the year, we have a very powerful full Moon in Cancer occurring in your 3rd house. This suggests possible battles with brothers or sisters; they could be in a feisty mood. Aries Rising – December 2012

For you with Aries rising, the Sun this month is found crossing your 9th house of travel, education, beliefs and legal issues. You are someone who loves new challenges, so this month you will be very much in your element. You will open your mind to new concepts now, travel will be fun and exciting and new philosophies will stimulate. On the 3rd, you are liable to be rather overconfident as the Sun opposes Jupiter. Don’t bite off more than you can chew.

Mercury begins the month in your 8th house and you will be preoccupied with getting under the skin and to the root of any matters that you are interested in, especially anything to do with debt, investments, shared money or property. Your mind opens out on and after 11th as Mercury crosses back into Sagittarius and back into this 9th house again. Initially things may seem a little confusing as Mercury squares Neptune, however you will feel inspired to learn as Mercury starts to make a trine to Uranus. The expansive New Moon on the 13th only highlights this need to expand your horizons. Maybe something you find interesting now can develop into a new passion, hobby or belief system for you.

Venus during the first half of December will also be in your 8th house of sharing, other people’s possessions and change. When Venus is here, much more focus on the intimate side of relationships is evident, and you will feel a need to have some private time with the one you love and adore. From the 16th, Venus moves into Sagittarius following Mercury and squares Neptune. In relationships, some sort of sacrifice may have to be made to your friend or partner or possibly a friend, so they could reveal a secret that could have long lasting effects on you? Mars spends most of the month in your 10th house of work and career, a time that sees you active at work. Your ambitions and your will to do well now are high, and your rather “me first attitude” may bring you into conflict with senior figures, especially if they try to tie you down or control your actions. Nevertheless they will not be able to complain with the effort you are putting in. Mars moves into Aquarius on 26th entering your 11th house of friends. As this is party season and Xmas time, you should have some serious fun with them as the New Year turns.

High-pressure aspects from the outer planets will bombard the full Moon that occurs at the end of December. On the 27th the Sun squares to Uranus and you will sense a need for independence and freedom and to break away from restrictions. Saturn makes a sextile to Pluto which conjuncts the Sun and makes a trine to the full Moon in Cancer on the 28th. Cancer is the sign of women and the home and it is here where there may be battles for control in your life. Family relations may well be stressed and strained around this time, so best maybe to get out away from this pressure to enjoy the celebrations for the end of the year.

Bus bomb in Tel Aviv injures 10 people.

This could be a critical point in the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. A bomb has exploded on a bus in Tel Aviv and initial reports say it has injured at least 10 people. It occurs as transiting Uranus is exactly square (0:01 degrees) to the Israeli natal Venus and is also trine the Israeli Moon representing the people. Venus the main target of this square rules the Israeli Ascendant and 8th house of death on the Israeli chart. The Moon sits in the 10th and rules the 10th of public reputation. Mars and Pluto also opposes Venus from the 3rd house of transportation.

In my post yesterday on Israel I said I didn't expect much chance of a truce with the planets as they were. Now I think there is absolutely no chance as Venus now approaches it’s ingress into Scorpio – Israel now will be on the highest of high alerts. We now approach an extremely dangerous set of aspects in the next couple of days as Mars squares to Uranus which is unstable and rebellious and then makes a conjunction of Mars and Pluto which is angry and destructive. We then have a very, very intense Lunar eclipse on 28th. The Israelis and Palestinians are looking into the face of a truly horrendous storm...

Conflict in Israel – Pressure mounts to find a solution

The situation in Israel is teetering on the edge of all out civil war as the massed ranks of Israeli reserve troops stand ready on the border of Gaza waiting for the signal to enter the province. In the meantime, Israeli jets scream overhead making surgical strikes within the warren of streets in Gaza City and the rockets fly from the Hamas militants towards Israeli towns and settlements. The diplomats around the world are scurrying around trying to find a peace settlement, but trying to find any middle ground between these two peoples who both claim this land as their own is hugely difficult.

The Israeli chart on the outside is set for the moment David Ben-Gurion stood up to declare the existence of the state of Israel and the Palestinian one is set for Algiers at 00:40 when Yasser Arafat the leader of the PLO declared the right for an independent state of Palestine. The synastry between these two is pretty amazing.

The Israeli Sun sits directly opposite the Palestinian on their Midheaven and the Israeli Mars sits on the Palestinian Ascendant and lies trine to the Palestinian Uranus Saturn Neptune conjunction This almost encourages violence between the two, especially as Mars every couple of years hits the natal Jupiter Mars trine in Israeli natal chart – that aspect is being impacted right now. We have Neptune square Neptune so one mode of faith against another, Saturn Pluto square Pluto Mercury - very tense, liable for verbal disagreements and battles for power and the Palestinian Pluto Mercury sits on the Israeli South Node in Scorpio. Could this be that destruction of one or the other of these two warring parties is the ultimate destiny for one or the other? The Palestinian North Node (point of destiny) sits in the 7th house of relationships and open enemies, the way to go is to negotiate but it is for the Palestinians the hardest path to take.

The Palestinian chart is under bombardment as is Gaza. Neptune on the descendant is a depressing and dissolving influence especially as it is moving into the natal 7th house destabilizing international relations and the ones with sworn enemies for years to come. This influence may also be a galvanising force for countries and friends of Palestine who share the same faith. Transiting Mars is hitting the triple conjunction of Uranus Saturn and Neptune and Pluto sits bang on the natal Neptune squared by Uranus. The transiting South Node is on the Palestinian Midheaven as sign of detriment and bad fortune right now for the Palestinian people and their leaders. Jupiter is squaring the Nodal axis, negating any beneficial effect that Jupiter might have as it moves in the natal 10th house of the public image of the province. This also suggests to me faith issues and problems with international powers and relations.

There are hints of a truce but if it doesn’t occur before Venus, the planet of diplomacy, moves into Scorpio then I can’t see one happening. Venus in Libra is the ultimate sugar coated peace through gentle persuasion, negotiation and compromise influence, but once Venus moves into Scorpio then the emphasis changes with peace coming under an “all or nothing” basis. Either all the conditions are fully met, or Venus won’t accede to an agreement. Knowing these two & seeing the synastry between them, do you thing either will back down and compromise?  Just to guide you, Venus moves into Scorpio just after midnight on the 22nd November.

If we don’t see an agreement then it could get ugly. Mars is on a collision course to a square with Uranus which is currently conjunct the Palestinian Mars and then it heads for a meeting with Pluto on 27th which is conjunct natal Neptune (which is square to natal Mars). Mars conjunct Pluto is an angry connection, destructive and potentially very violent indeed.

A day later on the 28th, we have the Lunar Eclipse (full Moon) in Gemini and as it occurs we have a rather nasty omen. The eclipse happens as the Moon conjunct Black Moon Lilith and Jupiter is exactly rising on the horizon in Israel. This Eclipse is square to Neptune and exactly square to Chiron the two most elevated planets, showing that matters of faith and wounding are prominent now. Chiron is also the planet of healing and we do have a trine here from Chiron to Saturn and Venus, but if the cease fire is not holding at this point then I doubt that this constructive energy will have much effect. The will may be there, but will it have a chance to be shown? Mars Pluto and Venus Saturn making a Yod onto the eclipsed Moon and Black Moon Lilith show the potential for violent events to occurs with huge suffering possible.

The stars do not help us now. The South Node is now on Algol, the head of the medusa and probably the most malefic star in the heavens and is heading for Capulus, a very violent star in the sword of Perseus, the warrior. These two stars show the extremes of female and male anger, revenge and savagery. At the time of the Lunar Eclipse, the South Node will be midway between the two. Mars and Pluto are meeting on Facies, the eye of the archer in Sagittarius. This is a reckless and focused place for Mars and Pluto to be, as planets on Facies show little regard for the actions they take. There are no regrets here in this part of the sky, and if violence happens over this time between Israel and the Palestinians, I fear the consequences.

I have been looking at this formation of planets for a long long time now, and I just knew something  significant would happen. The sky looked too violent for this moment in time to pass by peacefully. I pray for all in that region of the world, as I suspect they will need all the goodwill that we can muster…
