Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries marry in California. Will it be happy ever after?

Posted on 1:54 PM by Unknown

krishumphrieskimkardashian

As celebrity weddings go, this was rather a big one. Kim Kardashian at the weekend married basketball star Kris Humphries in a ceremony held in Montecito, California. How do these two get on? Will their married last the test of time? Lets have a look at the astrology to find out…

Kim was born on 21st October 1980 in Los Angeles at 10.46am. She is a very sociable Sun Libra with a very sensitive Pisces Moon and a party loving Sagittarian Ascendant. Her Sun and Moon combination make her want to please others, she will be very gentle, will love romance and sincerity but she will be very impressionable. Kim’s mind is very intuitive, and she will detect very quickly when someone is being insincere to her. She will be a very self sufficient girl with most of the planets on the Eastern hemisphere (left) of the chart.

KimKardashian natal

Her Sun is conjunction with Pluto so she has huge plans and a need to be recognised or be someone special; she also likes to be in control of her life. Being a Sun Libra, harmony and equality will be most important to Kim, she will fight if she feels any type of injustice. She will have a quick flexible brain, and she will become impatient with those slower than her; she may be a bit of a whizz with technical things like gadgets and computers and she may be interested in astrology. She will love animals of all sorts and may be quite talented in making things with her hands, from art to pottery or sculpture. This is a girl who needs constant excitement and mental stimulation in a relationship otherwise she will go off to find it elsewhere. The Uranus Mercury conjunction in Scorpio makes a trine to the sensitive Pisces Moon, making her excitable, unpredictable and a little wild with a spontaneous sense of fun and an outrageous sense of humour.

This Moon anchors the chart; her emotions and imagination will be extremely important to her well-being. The Moon is opposite Venus Saturn and Jupiter. This is a very powerful set of oppositions. It does suggest that she will suffer emotionally in her life, her emotions are at odds with her need for love and companionship, she will be uncertain exactly what she wants from a personal relationship. The Saturn Moon opposition says of a difficult mother/daughter relationship. They were obviously at odds with each other, and Kim would have felt the criticism and hurt from her intensely. She will be constantly battling the demons from her past and she will strive to prove her doubting mother wrong. Luckily for Kim, Jupiter sits conjunct to Saturn in the 10th house on her Midheaven conjunct to Venus in the 9th house. Venus conjunct the Midheaven often bestows model looks and Kim has used them to project her public image around the globe, her career has been carved around her image.

She is a hard working girl (Mars sextile Saturn), loves beauty and and may be creative in this field (Mercury sextile Venus) and will look endlessly for that perfect dream love (Neptune square Venus). Neptune in the first house close to the ascendant does encourage escapism – would she marry to escape all the insecurities she has felt in her life? Has she found the right guy? Lets look at Kris Humphries, her new husband.

Kris was born on 6th February 1985 in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the US. Unfortunately I have not found a birth time for him. Does anyone know it? Please email me if you do. So he is a Sun Sign Aquarius with either a Leo or Virgo Moon. If Kris was born before 07.00 then he has a Leo Moon, otherwise the Moon is in Virgo. Emotionally it makes a huge difference. The Leo Moon loves the limelight, wants to be special and is just a little proud, stubborn and overbearing. The Virgo Moon is self-critical, a rather shy, perfectionist and a bit of a worrier. Those with Virgo Moons do have quick reactions and have good common sense. If I were to hazard a guess, it needs a big personality to accompany the showbiz caravan which surrounds Kim, so I would lean towards a Leo Moon, although a Virgo one would suit her gentle Pisces emotions far better.

KrisHumphriesnatal

Kris’ Moon potentially squares his Saturn, so like Kim, he may have had a difficult relationship with his mother. We find Saturn also in rather a wide conjunction to the  North Node if anything increasing the effect. Maybe this common factor was one that brought them together? The Moon is trine to Neptune, so Kris will have a soft impressionable heart, and he will sacrifice everything to make sure that harmony is kept in his emotional life. He will not like upsets and turmoil. Both Mars and Venus are in go ahead Aries, so in love Kris will be a no nonsense type of guy. He will be have been looking for his dream girl (Venus square Neptune) and he will want to live out his dreams and fantasies (Mars square Neptune). In Kim, he seems to have found all of these things. He would have been the one to make the first move; Venus  conjunct Mars is always pushy in love, but if there are problems, he will be the one to move on first. He will not want to fight and battle as I explained earlier.

Kris will value loyalty highly (Venus trine Saturn) and he will work hard to make this relationship work (Mars trine Saturn). He will be rather self protective and a bit secretive with his Saturn in Scorpio. Letting others into his private world is difficult for him, he may rather fear deep emotional intimacy.

Kris is a bit of an perpetual student, always wanting to know and learn more; he will have an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He may as he gets older have a desire to teach or instruct those younger than himself; a potential basketball coach of the future perhaps? Jupiter and Mercury are both in Aquarius like the Sun so he will without doubt be a progressive thinker and planner as well as fiercely independent. Pluto makes a square to this conjunction of Jupiter and Mercury. His mind will always be looking for the motives under the surface, the mind of the detective. He needs to be careful of this, as one can start suspecting things that are not true, jealousy and paranoia are possible with Mercury square Pluto. Pluto square Jupiter is very lucky, quite often people with this aspect literally attract money and prestige without trying too hard. Kris will be an opportunistic type of guy, ready to seize upon any good ideas that come his way. He certainly was opportunistic when Kim came along, wasn’t he?

Now, let’s look at the synastry chart. The synopsis is not too bad. The one stand out aspect for me is that Kris’ Aquarian Sun conjuncts with Kim’s South Node. There will be a karmic connection between them, almost as if they have known each other all of their lives. Some say that people with this connection did meet in a previous life and have issues still to settle in this one. Kim’s Moon connects nicely with Kris’ Venus and Mars which shows good friendship and Kris’ Jupiter makes a trine to Kim’s Jupiter and Midheaven and squares her Sun bringing fortune and public awareness to them both. Kris’ Venus makes a lovely trine to Kim’s Mars, so there is attraction aplenty between them. Kris’ Pluto is in wide conjunction with Kim’s Sun, so he may overpower and control her and her Neptune is square his Neptune which can be a bit depressing. His Mercury is square to her Sun so he may say hurtful things to hit her pride along the way. Her Saturn does oppose his Mars and Venus – this could be a tad tricky if she is in a bad mood as she may put the brakes on. When he wants to go, she will say stop, in both an emotional and a physical sense.

KimKardashian transit

They are not perfect in a synastry sense although I have seen far worse. There is not really good line of communication which I always like to see. Mercury in both charts are in fixed signs, so I fear a stand off if there are problems. The Saturn opposite Venus Mars could cause problems.

On the Composite chart, which shows a combination look at the couple as a pair and how they will relate to each other, we see more difficulty. There is a very stressful opposition from Venus up to a Sun Mercury & Neptune conjunction. Sun Mercury and Neptune is very idealistic and sensitive, but is also rather delusionary and deceptive. It does suggest that their communication will get better as the relationship develops, but the chance of ultimate disappointment is definitely there. The ideals and hopes at the start tend to be too high, and when reality does set in, you are let down in a big way.

Depending on Kris’ birth time, there may be a Sun Moon opposition. This creates great attraction between the two but also competition and a sense that something is not quite right, there is an imbalance between the two personalities which causes tension. Now this Venus Neptune Sun Mercury opposition makes a wedge with Saturn and Pluto at the point. Saturn and Pluto in a composite chart shows they two will have difficult times together and that staying together will be a struggle, but these difficulties will come from the outside world. Either you fight to keep the relationship stronger, and in a way this benefits both of you in the long term bringing you together as one force against the world, or you give in and split. Some succeed with this conjunction but many often fail. This shows how much you do love each other and how you cope with adversity as a couple.

Uranus and Jupiter together in conjunction shows that the two of them will need room to breath within the relationship, being stuck under the same roof for days on end will not suit them. In their present situation, it may be fine as they have many outside commitments but in the future? This aspect will allow them to grow and have unusual experiences especially in travel that will benefit each other.

KimKardashianKrisHumph

Finally the composite Mars squares to Saturn and Pluto. This is rather nasty as both Kim and Kris will be working at cross purposes to each other. At best they will tend to get in each others way, at worst the relationship can turn into a battlefield as one will want to do one thing and the other will want to do something else. In a sexual sense, they will have differing emotional moods creating potential tension in the bedroom. Tension will exist between the two and with Mars square to Pluto, this could eventually turn spiteful. Mars and Pluto is very competitively intense, with physical and psychological battles. Both Kim and Kris will need the space I mentioned before, without which this relationship could turn into a full scale war.

I hope they find happiness, but I fear over time that the differences and tensions between them may become too hard to bare. Certainly if I were advising them, I would tell them to be tolerant of each other, to give each other plenty of room and to try and find interests that they both enjoy doing. Find some sort of common ground that they can gravitate to in the difficult moments that will come from such a high profile marriage.

Ridley Scott - A look at the horoscope of one of the great film directors of our time.

Posted on 9:19 AM by Unknown

ridley scott

Gritty, serious, talented. Ridley Scott has been responsible for some of the biggest box office films of our age, Blade Runner, Alien, Thelma & Louise, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down & American Gangster. Sure, he has one or two less successful films, but then again, tell me a director who hasn’t? It is rumoured that he will be making another Blade Runner film to follow up the 1982 masterpiece which starred Harrison Ford. A good enough reason for me to dip into the mind and motivations of one of Britain’s foremost filmmakers.

Ridley was born on 30th November 1937 in South Shields, England. As yet I do not have a birth time which is a shame. If anyone does know Ridley’s time of birth, please could you let me know and I will add to the article. He is a Sun sign Sagittarius which unusually is peregrine. Unconnected to any other planet. Luckily the Moon was in Scorpio all day on the 30th so we have a confirmed sign for it. The Sagittarius Sun dominates this chart. It gives a wide expansive look on life, as if there are no boundaries. Ridley would have a thirst for knowledge, and a need for space, Sagittarians can suffer horribly from claustrophobia. Alien I think deals with Ridley’s Sagittarian fear of claustrophobia,  being cooped up in a spaceship unable to escape & being hunted by an unknown, dangerous enemy. Out of all the signs, Sagittarians need a constant challenge, they need to be doing something, testing themselves. That is one of the reasons why at age 73, Ridley is still making and planning films. He won’t stop, until he drops.

RidleyScott natal

The Sun is in conjunction to the North Node, a direct sign that Ridley was very close to his mother. The reason can be seen by the fact that Saturn is retrograde. Saturn retrograde always says that the love of the father was missing in some way. In Ridley’s case, his father was in the army, and thus away on duty for much of his upbringing. That Saturn is crucial to the whole chart. Through this one planet we see Ridley’s motivations permeating throughout his life. It connects to every planet on the chart except Pluto. Saturn’s primary function is to administrate, but in Pisces it can also reduce the self-confidence. As a boy, Ridley would have been very shy and inhibited, he would have worried about his role in life, but as you get older, your confidence increases. Saturn has a galvanising effect over time, honing the skills you do have so that you can use them when you are ready. The skill Ridley had in abundance was great imagination. Pisces is ruled by Neptune, the planet ruling dreams, inspiration, vision, creativity, films and filmmaking. After graduating in Art studies, working in set design with the BBC, he set up a film company in 1968, started filming TV commercials and finally directed his first feature film, the Duellists in 1977 at age 40. Sometimes Saturn makes you wait…

Mars is semi-square to Saturn, he will get a bit irritable if he can’t get his way on things, but it does give him a purposeful attitude to his work. Mars is in Aquarius, so he is socially aware and able to work with people – he is very much a team player. He will be innovative in the way he works, using new techniques to forward his career. Mars in Aquarius is erratic though, so sometimes he will be nice as pie, and sometimes a real handful, impatient and rebellious.

Saturn is sextile to Jupiter (which is personalised through the Sun) – this gives stamina and the ability to see projects through from the start through to completion, this is a lovely positive and realistic sextile which will give him a good reputation. Jupiter is in Capricorn, giving him stability and a wonderful work ethic. Ridley is not one of those people who will think he his higher than anyone else. If a menial job needs to be done, he will do it. He will have no airs or graces, he is down to earth just like the tough North East of England background he hailed from.

Saturn makes a square to Mercury in Sagittarius and an opposition to Neptune in Virgo forming a powerful t-square. This is a mutable t-square, and this type of configuration seems to effect the mental processes. At the point of the t-square is the planet ruling the mind, Mercury. The Astrologer Bill Tierney wrote that this type of formation is like a windmill in a gale, and you can see the ideas and images in Ridley’s mind whirring around at high speed. This is the formation that drives his creative processes. Saturn in Pisces as I have already explained, Neptune in Virgo adds the detail, perfection and skill to the filmmaking process, he will have an eye for detail, the visions (Neptune) he sees in his mind (Mercury) will be painstakingly transferred into solid form (Saturn) and then communicated (Mercury) around the globe to a wide audience (Sagittarius). Here we have the Sagittarian influence again. Ridley is known for epic blockbusters of wide scope. Neptune makes a mini grand trine with Jupiter and Venus. Here Ridley has a love of beauty, creativity, colour, mysticism, idealism, a generosity of spirit and a compassionate nature.

Saturn makes a trine with Venus in deep dark Scorpio. Have you noticed how the women in Ridley’s films are often strong of character? Venus in Scorpio is the answer – controlling, powerful, sexual, manipulative, confident in their own abilities. Think of Sigourney Weaver in Alien, or Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon in Thelma & Louise. Ridley will not be into superficial relationships. He will be very cautious about giving his heart away, but once he does find the right partner, he will be true to them. Ridley will not be overly romantic, rather simple in his tastes and humble in his desires. Strength of character to him would be far more important than sheer looks.

Saturn makes a trine to Pluto in Leo and with Pluto making an opposition back to Jupiter, this makes a wedge formation with Saturn at the point. This is a very fortunate combination. It gives determination, wisdom, ambition, the potential for huge success and the chance for making a huge impact on society, something that Ridley hag grabbed with both hands. From a difficult childhood from a deprived part of the UK, he has risen to become universally known. Pluto also connects with Mars via a quindecile. This is very aggressive focused aspect and very transformational in nature. Many of Ridley’s films have dealt with death and destruction, or military subjects – very much associated with these planets. GI Jane featuring Demi Moore featured  the idea of the first female to undergo US Navy Seals training. Again the strong woman appears in Ridley’s creations. Black Hawk Down was very dark and violent, and Body of Lies starring Leonardo DiCaprio dealt with the CIA and jihadist terrorists.

The final formation on this chart is another t-square between Uranus in Taurus, the Moon in Scorpio and Mars in Aquarius at the point. The Moon in Scorpio is very deep and dark. Ridley will be quiet, secretive, rather reticent to let his emotions show, giving him a rather dour edge to his personality. Under the skin the emotions bubble; however once the temper comes out, it comes out in a rage. This is a volcano like combination of planets, unpredictable, erratic and possibly violent. The Moon in Scorpio need to delve under the skin of everything going on, Ridley will want to know everything about everything. He will be prone to jealousy and he will not accept laziness by anyone working with him – he will be a rather hard taskmaster. Uranus in Taurus shows the creation and use of new technologies in society; this is one of the themes in Blade Runner. This is a very restless and impulsive t-square and with the accent on Uranus and Aquarius here, you can see the attraction of science fiction and times in the future beyond our imaginations. Alien and Blade Runner depict all of the aspects on this t-square, dark design, austere sets, violence, action films set in futuristic worlds.

Ridley Scott would always struggle to make small, intimate films about subtle emotions. It is not his style and the expansive Sagittarian influence on this chart pushes him to be bigger and better, grand in scale and grand in budget. Sometimes we need someone who can see the big picture for what it is. Certainly when it comes to war & action movies, to science fiction and imagination on a wide scale, few directors these days come close.

Coco Chanel - Was the fashion icon a Nazi agent and informer?

Posted on 4:34 PM by Unknown

coco-chanel

Interesting question isn’t it? The author Hal Vaughan in a new book “Sleeping with the Enemy “claims that Coco Chanel was a Nazi agent during the occupation of Paris. Is there any astrological basis to the claim? Looking at Coco’s chart maybe there is…

ChanelCoco natal

Coco was a fascinating character in her own right. Born in Saumur, France on 19th August 1883 at 16.00, Coco was a confident Sun Leo with a deceptive Pisces Moon and a very late Sagittarian Ascendant, almost into Capricorn. The chart is whole orientated to the western hemisphere (the right) so we know that she thought of others much more than she ever thought of herself. On the chart we have the brash confidence and the desire to be in the limelight of the Leo Sun combining with the need of the Piscean Moon to be creative and inspirational. The Moon sitting in the 2nd house shows that Coco’s creative urges would be directed at serving the public, a 2nd house Moon always indicates service in some way to others. This combination on Coco’s chart was highly focused, even obsessional as we see a very tight quindecile between Sun and Moon. With Mercury in technical Virgo, highlighting superb skill and a perfectionist attitude to the creative Moon, Coco would have needed an outlet for this opposition. That outlet came in the form of Saturn in Gemini at the point of a t-square with the Moon and Mercury. Through her everyday work (6th) she created form (Saturn) by way of making  clothes as well as accessories from her ideas. Saturn also in a skill sign Gemini in the creative 5th house, which highlights the skill of making things with the hands completes the t-square. Saturn here also confirmed that not only would Coco want to make clothes, she would want to run her own business. Mercury in the 8th house of big business confirms this.

Saturn was conjunct to Pluto which always gives one the chance to make riches  and success beyond your wildest dreams. Oh how she exploited her talents. Pluto in the 5th increases the drive and the creative ability to unseen heights and was also square to the Leo Sun. This is one lady who would have an iron grip on everything to do with her fashion house. I bet she was one tough, tough customer. Pluto also makes a conjunction to Neptune. This Neptune being personalised through the Piscean Moon has a tremendous influence on the chart. It makes a close trine to Uranus, this shows that her inspiration and creations were ahead of her time, her vision would stand for generations to come. Neptune also was trine to Mercury, again echoing the skill and inspiration in fashion design; it also brings the idea of the ideal. Coco would have a perfectionist idea in her head which she translated into clothes. Neptune makes a square to the Sun and Neptune in Leo, here is inspiration for colour, make-up & beauty. Neptune also makes a sextile to Jupiter, part of a Neptune/Uranus Jupiter mini grand trine. This gave her the platform and the international connections, Jupiter is in the house of partners, to send her creations all around the globe.

Finally Mars in the 6th house of everyday work gave her energy and a non stop work ethic. Mars made an opposition to her Sagittarian ascendant and a trine to her Midheaven. She continued to create and design into her 80’s. She was a truly remarkable lady and this is a truly remarkable chart.

The Nazi chart was a very complicated one based around a fixed grand cross showing idealist tendencies Jupiter, Neptune opposite Venus combined with emotion and violence Moon opposite Mars. There is also a brutal grand water trine with Mars Pluto and Uranus conjunct the Sun. Here is control, destructive tendencies and independent revolutionary spirit. Saturn in critical harsh Virgo also turns that grand water trine into a kite formation opposing the Sun Uranus conjunction. Mercury in Pisces sent out deceptive messages (propaganda), being part of a t-square with the Ascendant and Midheaven. It really is a vey disturbing chart.

NaziPartyWRIIC9

Now what of those Nazi connections? If you take the Nazi party chart of 24th February 1920 at 19.15 in Munich and put it against Coco’s one, a remarkable picture appears.

NaziParty Coco

So what do we see? Firstly the Nazi Party Mars (the planet of action) sits conjunct to Coco’s North Node so there is an affinity here and Coco’s Neptune (the planet of deception) sits conjunct to the Nazi South Node and trine to the Nazi Ascendant and sextile to the Nazi Mercury. Both these planets are in quindecile – there is a focus and obsessional link between them and a connection in the form of communication. Not only that. Coco’s Mercury sits in the Nazi 12th house. This is a place of service and is in the hidden part of the Nazi chart, suggesting her hidden messages being sent to the Nazi command. Mercury is square to the authoritarian Nazi Saturn. There is also a square between Coco’s Saturn and the Nazi one – notice that Coco’s Saturn is in the international 9th house of the Nazi natal chart – Coco was an agent abroad for them. Coco’s Saturn is sextile to the Nazi Neptune, again highlighting the secret covert nature of their relationship.

Seeing the links above, I will let you make up your own mind if Coco was working on behalf of the Germans during the war time years, however I definitely lean towards the fact that she was. There is no doubt that you can see a potential flow of behind the scenes information on the synastry chart.

I have one other thing that may interest you. If you are still in doubt, check out the similarity between the Nazi swastika flag and Coco’s signature trademark design. SS interlocked and CC interlocked. Coincidence or not? Did she give us a cryptic clue to her hidden past and secret role? You decide…

We will never know for sure of Coco’s real intentions and affiliations as she passed away in January 1971 at the grand old age of 87. One thing for sure, she was a huge, huge talent and her shadow still dominates the fashion world of today.

Libya – Gaddafi’s hold on power coming to an end.

Posted on 2:13 PM by Unknown

It has been a long battle but as the rebel forces approach the outskirts of Libya’s capital city Tripoli, the end is surely nigh for Colonel Gaddafi’s rule of the country. A quick look at the current transits against the natal chart of Libya show the battle for the country is approaching the end game.

Libya transits

There are fierce battles going on right now as the rebel army approaches the Libyan capital and these are shown by transiting Mars which is conjunct to the natal Uranus. Mars is passing through the ruling 10th house of government and the nation’s public image, symbolising the bloody and chaotic nature of the advancement. The transiting Mars is also approaching a square with natal Saturn and its own position, so the battle in a few days will really start to be underway in the seat of government, Tripoli. If you wish to see the natal Libyan chart please click here – Libya

My post on Colonel Gaddafi published 27th Feb 11 - Colonel Gaddafi

Libya 27 sept

I have tried to show the situation and movement of the planets month by month.

You can see the progression of events through Saturn. The natal Saturn/Mars Neptune conjunction in the natal Libyan chart fans out by aspect all the other planets. Saturn’s connection by transit here this time will herald the overthrow of the present regime. With transiting Saturn now conjunct to Saturn and square to Uranus and soon to move into a conjunction with natal Mars, this will be a violent and bloody end to the conflict. I would expect the end to be between mid and late September, because Libya’s Ascendant and Midheaven is ruled by Mercury. Natal Mercury lies at 18 degrees Sagittarius, and transiting Saturn will make a sextile with Mercury in the last week of September. This in turn will activate the natal Mercury Ascendant Midheaven t-square. Sextiles present opportunities and this will be an opportunity to complete the job started many months ago by the rebel forces. The transiting Sun and Mercury at this point make an opposition with Jupiter and square the natal Sun, which itself will be receiving a square again from retrograde Uranus.

Libya 27 Oct

Saturn then goes on to make contact with Neptune at the end of October. At this point, there will be a vey interesting mini grand trine as well as a wedge formation created. Transiting Mars conjunct Pluto and transiting Neptune opposite Pluto which is very brutal and grief stricken. Transiting Mercury also feeds into this Mars Pluto conjunction by way of a square, showing that this contact will affect the whole nation. The transiting North Node conjunct both natal Mercury (the chart ruler) and opposite the Midheaven and at the point is Saturn conjunct natal Neptune. Might this literally be the end of the dream for Gaddafi? Unless the Libyan leader has already got out of the country, then it will be nigh impossible for him to escape once the battle for Tripoli finally gets underway. The South Node conjunct to the Midheaven is a most unfortunate position, and the brutal Mars Pluto Neptune connection hitting  the Saturn Neptune conjunction does say to me the end of the dream. If Gaddafi is caught, I suspect the rebels at this point will show no mercy to the dictator who ruled Libya for 40 years.

Riots in the UK – The Uranus Pluto square part 2. The crackdown has started.

Posted on 3:20 AM by Unknown

blackberry

All astrological aspects tend to have more than one meaning. Whereas one set of people will use an aspect in one way, somebody else will use it another way. Being an Astrologer, in prediction it is often very hard to pin down the correct outcome of what will happen because of double meanings. Sometimes you get an effect and then a reaction to that effect.

Transits4

As the riots hit their peak in the UK I reported about the Uranus Pluto square which was being turned into a t-square by a connection to Mars. Yesterday, the reaction came. Two internet users who incited rioting from their computers via Facebook were convicted to 4 years in prison!! They didn’t loot a shop, they didn’t burn down any buildings, they just set up a Facebook page and suggested their friends meet up and have a riot. Certainly I cannot condone such an action, encouraging people to commit crime is an offence, but 4 years?? Smacks of a complete over-reaction to the situation, doesn’t it?

UnitedKingdom transits

The crackdown comes as a result of the “other” side of the Uranus Pluto square. As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, Uranus is shocking violent acts and Pluto can mean mass destruction. There is another side to these planets in connection. Uranus is a social planet associated with technology and Pluto can also mean harsh restriction. In effect, a crackdown on social media. The t-square with Mars is still in force, but now Mars has moved on to conjunct with the UK Midheaven. The decisions made police and authorities represented by Mars are now having a public effect. The transiting Sun is also directly square the UK Saturn so the Government are supportive of these harsh measures. Transiting Jupiter is trine the UK Sun, so the legal processes is being overloaded (2000 court cases in just over a week) and with transiting Jupiter conjunct the UK natal Mars, the authorities are being over zealous in the punishments they are handing out. Finally, transiting Saturn is hitting the UK South Node, a very difficult and authoritarian position. No wonder the more liberal members of society are reacting with disgust to the sentences being given.

Pluto as I have said before never knows when to stop and we in the UK are now on the receiving end of the harsh energies it encourages, both in the cause of the riots and now the hard-line retaliation by those in charge. Restricting social media, tapping into BlackBerry messenger by the police; all these issues are being discussed and quite frankly if measures like these are taken and passed into law, it will only incite more vitriol from those in society who have incorporated these things into their daily life. The youth of the UK live by social media. The last thing you want to do is incite another riot by disaffecting them even more, do you?

I only hope that some common sense can be found in the wreckage of what is going on right now in Britain. Those in charge should be using their energies and intelligence to find a more permanent solution to the considerable problems in the country, especially to those on the edges of society, otherwise when transiting Pluto conjuncts the UK natal Sun in January 2013**, all hell may break loose.

My previous post - The Uranus Pluto square – Britain burns. Riots in Tottenham, Lewisham, Hackney, Peckham and right across London.

** The effects of this connection may well be felt in Summer of 2012 when Pluto comes within 1 degree of exact conjunction with the UK Sun.

Rick Perry – Reaching for the stars. The astrology of the Texas Governor turned Presidential hopeful.

Posted on 10:53 AM by Unknown

The expected news came just before the weekend. Rick Perry has had ambitions to be President of the United States but until last week he had been keeping his gunpowder dry. Just before the Iowa straw poll, news came through that the Texas governor was entering the race to emulate his predecessor, one George W Bush. Is America keen for another gunslinger in the White House? I try to asses wether the Lone Star governor has got what it takes astrologically to make it all the way to the top.

Rick Perry was born on 4th March 1950 10 miles outside of Paint Creek, Texas at 10.40am. This time is not absolutely confirmed, but it comes from a Texas Astrologer, so the source seems like a good one

RickPerry natal

Ok What do we know about him?

Born in a rural cotton farm community where he lived and worked on the land with his family. Apparently it was a tough upbringing and on the cusp of the 4th house we find Virgo and also here is Pluto. Pluto infers the notion of being trapped or controlled. I can imagine that Rick’s home life would not have been a happy one.

As a boy we know he was an Eagle scout. In the 11th house we find the Piscean Sun, he will be a leader in groups and associations and social activities. Ricks friends will be a source of inspiration to him.

At school he studied animal science where he received a bachelors degree. On the Midheaven we find scientific Aquarius and in the house everyday routine and domesticated animals we find Neptune, conferring a real love for looking after them.

We know that Rick was trained to be a pilot and flew military jets while serving in the US Air Force in the Middle East and in Europe until 1977, he also very nearly became a commercial pilot. Mars is the planet signifying the military, and Mars in May 1950 was in social Libra, he was a military pilot turned social one. Mars sits in the 5th house of sports and physical activity and makes a trine to the Aquarian Midheaven conferring him with great technical skill in flying. Venus in the 9th brings fascination in travel and I am sure the chance to go abroad was one of the factors he used in choosing to go into the forces.

We know that Rick is an evangelical Christian. Jupiter is in Aquarius in the 10th house so Rick makes his faith an integral part of his public role. The Sun is in spiritual Pisces and his very conservative religious views are shown by stern Saturn sitting on the cusp of the 9th house.

We are now getting somewhere. Mr Perry’s appearance is always very clean cut, neat and sharp. Even at 61 years of age he looks like someone in their late 40’s which indicates someone who looks after themselves and their appearance, possibly a bit of vanity perhaps? Taurus ruled by Venus sits on the Midheaven showing that streak within him with Mars and Neptune now in the 9th. I understand Rick is a larger than life character and consistent with idea Jupiter is in square aspect to the Ascendant. This aspect reinforces the faith aspect tot his personality and gives him a bit of a lucky streak.

Finally, here as they say in America “is the kicker”. Rick was encouraged to run for the presidency by his wife. Why did she have to persuade Rick to enter the race? It is because Rick lives under her thumb. Scorpio ruled by Pluto sits on the cusp of Rick’s 7th house. She controls (Pluto & Scorpio) him!! As I will show, her decision affected the race for the Republican nomination.

Right to the chart. Rick has a Sun in dreamy Pisces, the Moon in critical, conservative Virgo conjunct to Saturn, a Taurean Ascendant and a stubborn and erratic Aquarian Midheaven.

The Taurus Ascendant and Aquarius Midheaven give us a man who is a social organiser and a builder of his own little empire, it is in his nature. This is someone who has a very hard line and a severe public face. Rick is in favour of the death penalty, gun ownership, anti global warming and he wanted to go ahead with a $10 billion building programme of coal burning power stations, plans which were drastically reduced under the potential opposition of environmental litigation. All these issues, death, firearms, big business & heavy industry have been very controversial in nature, something that will follow him throughout his work life, he is a very divisive figure.

The basis of this chart are a couple of powerful oppositions. We have the Piscean Sun, dreamy and elusive in a tight opposition to the Moon and Saturn which is retrograde in the 5th house. A lot here to discuss. This opposition is across the 5th and 11th houses, the house of giving and receiving love. With Saturn in the 5th, this is a very reserved man emotionally. The Saturn/Moon combination tells me that Rick had a strict, hard working upbringing. Saturn and Moon together indicate a mother who was tough and critical on her son. Saturn retrograde shows that love was not forthcoming from his father either. Perhaps he was away a lot (unlikely as this was a family farm), or more likely he too was severe or maybe just cold on Rick as he was growing up. With the opposition to the 11th house Sun, I can assume that Rick’s self worth was severely dented as a child. The proof can be seen as Uranus in the 2nd house is exactly square to the Nodal Axis (otherwise known as the maternal axis). Here is a very cold and unpredictable relationship with his mother. The Moon in Virgo opposite the Sun in Pisces is a very sensitive, even shy combination, prone to being hurt and very self critical. In his soul, Perry sometimes lacks motivation, sometimes he needs to be given a kick up the backside to force him into action. It also makes one over-react, to do too much to overcome one’s weaknesses. The Moon in the 5th shows such an over-reaction. Rick’s will dramatize all his reactions, they will be severely over the top.

Being belittled as a youngster I believe forced Rick into action to join the forces, just to prove to his parents that he was worthy. It is telling that he held back in putting himself forward to join the race, almost as if that self-doubt in his chart was holding him back. It took his wife to push him forward to join the race. I believe that his charismatic nature we know is a front, a smokescreen (a very Piscean analogy) hiding a much more timid and deceptive personality out of the public gaze. That charisma comes from the other opposition on this chart. Jupiter and Mercury in Aquarius opposite to Pluto, forming a wedge with Neptune at the point. Jupiter and Mercury also make a trine to Uranus. This conjunction has great vision, big plans and Perry will be an electrifying, powerful speaker. Jupiter provides the scope, Pluto in opposition the depth, Neptune the grace and a poetic tone and Uranus in trine aspect allows sparks to fly. One thing to notice. This combination is great in rhetoric, but where is the detail behind it? Grand conservative social plans yes (Aquarius, Libra, Cancer) in a rather self-centred way (Pluto in regal Leo). There are no earth planets in this combination giving a grounding to the message. Uranus sitting in the 2nd house of finance rives Rick a rather reckless attitude to money in general. Is this exactly what The US needs in times of austerity? His record in Texas on the face of it does seem impressive, but drill below the surface and the picture is not so clear. The BBC says that Texas although the budget has been balanced still owes a lot of money in unpaid debts, the jobs that have been made are only low paid ones, probably taken up by immigrants and the standard of education has dropped through the floor in the state. Sounds remarkably like the situation in Britain, and see where that has lead us in the last couple of weeks!! Will all this be enough, and will the American system really focus in on what he actually has achieved?

The Sun and Moon opposition also contributes two more things to this chart. Firstly, Perry’s character and his emotions will work at cross purposes, so he will send out mixed messages, causing confusion in personal relationships. Secondly, the most obvious aspects often are overlooked on a chart as people are looking too deeply. We have Sun opposite Moon (conjunct to Saturn), a man versus a woman; a very powerful authoritarian (Saturn) one as well. One of Perry’s challenges will be to fight and defeat Michele Bachmann, who may take enough of the religious right and tea party support away from him, to let Mitt Romney who seems more moderate in his views take the centre ground. Finally before I move to look at current planetary movements, one last connection. Uranus sits square to the nodal axis. This indicates someone who generally is out of step with public opinion. When challenged why their views are so different, they tend to get irritated, insensitive or rebellious. Perry will have to hold his tongue in the Republican debates when his motives and especially his religious opinions are questioned.

I move to the transits and looking at what happened astrologically as Perry entered the race. Last week as Perry mulled over entering the fray, the transiting Sun and Venus were conjunct to Perry’s Pluto just before his announcement on Saturday 13th. A minor connection, but a significant one. With Scorpio on the cusp of the 7th as I suggest, the push from a female influence (Venus) on Perry’s Pluto persuaded him to enter the race. I think she fancies 4 years in the White House? As he spoke, the Sun was exactly quindecile to his natal Venus again highlighting the female influence on him. Transiting Jupiter was square the Aquarian Midheaven, Sun opposite his 10th house Jupiter and the transiting Moon conjunct it. Mars, highlighting communication in Perry’s chart (Aries on 3rd house cusp) was square to the nodal axis, putting his actions squarely in the public eye (sorry about the pun). The transiting Moon was also opposite to natal Pluto again highlighting his wife’s influence (Cancer on cusp of 7th) and his Scorpio Midheaven ambitions.

How are things going to pan out. Well transiting Saturn is going to contact Rick’s natal Neptune in the middle of September which will be a debilitating influence. Natal Saturn sits in the 5th house and Neptune in the 6th, is this a risk he has taken that will suddenly go wrong, the 5th house is the house of affairs? The 9th & 11th houses are involved too, so does this situation have international connections with friends or groups? We shall see next month.  I believe this will be a critical time for him. In December 2011, Perry starts to pick up a transit that will last for him from that time through until the Presidential election itself. Transiting Pluto will square to Rick’s natal Mars and also square his Nodal Axis. Pluto is operating out of it’s own 8th house of change and transformation, Mars is in Rick’s 5th house of affairs, creativity and speculation and rules the 12th house of sacrifice and service. Pluto rules the 7th house of relationships, dealing with others and of open enemies. This square to the Nodes harks back to events in April 2011, when Pluto stationed exactly on Perry’s node before turning retrograde. This square is very destructive and accurately describes the wildfires which were affecting Texas at the time. Looking back, Perry was considered crazy by some at the time as he officially asked for spiritual help for Texas by declaring a 3 day period of prayer for rain as a cure for the disaster affecting his state. The divine intervention never came as the sun continued to beat down. Watch to see if Perry’s opponents jump on this weakness for using God as a panacea for all the ills and disappointments going on in America.

RickPerry speech

Looking at election day 6th November 2012 if Rick makes it that far, we have a mixed bag of transits for him. On the plus side, we have a nice sextile between transiting Jupiter and natal Pluto and a trine between Jupiter and Neptune. Jupiter will also square the Sun, Moon and Saturn opposition. I feel the effect of over-confidence on this aspect, and in the process he will get a hit to the self-worth profile. Transiting Neptune will be square to his Taurus Ascendant on election day, not a very happy one and dissolving any dreams he will have. Neptune transiting the 10th house of work is also not an auspicious platform for launching a Presidential campaign. This will be a time when Rick will be unsure of his direction in life, and any deceit that he has been party to will come out, or then again may be deceived himself. Transiting Saturn also will be square natal Venus, this will be an emotionally depressing time.

RickPerry election

Having now got a definitive birth time, I am still not convinced by Rick Perry. As an outsider and somebody who is looking at this from a neutral perspective, I do feel that there does seem something false about his chart. A lot of bravado & charisma yes, but not so much substance. I also think he tends to hide behind his religious views too much. The other lingering doubt remaining with me is this. If he was so confident of winning, why didn’t he enter the race earlier, and why did his wife have to push him so much to get him to run? Something tells me he is hiding something. The less time you are under scrutiny, the less time there is to dig the dirt on him. As the competition heats up over the coming months, the planets will find out the truth.

**** Update 10th Nov 11 ****

I sort of knew it would happen somewhere along the line. During a live CBS debate, Rick Perry last night made a huge gaff when trying to remember all three government agencies he would cut if he became President. He remembered two, Commerce and Education but then he stumbled, and even asked his rivals if they could help. Fully 15 minutes later, he finally came up with the answer, the Energy agency. Fifteen minutes too late and his Presidential campaign seems to be falling apart. This happens as the transiting Nodes now are starting to square his Sun opposition to Moon/Saturn, Uranus was almost exactly square (0.04 degrees) to it’s own position and disorientating Neptune was approaching an exact square to his ascendant. I think we can now fully discount his chances (at least this time around) for him having any chance of becoming President in 2012.

Angela Merkel – German Chancellor facing mounting criticism over EU bail out.

Posted on 7:03 AM by Unknown
angele merkel
Angela Merkel is facing opposition in her own coalition in Germany after agreeing to bail out European member states in the continuing debt crisis. As the one economy which is bucking the trend of downturn and depression, Germany is facing the prospect of using it’s hard earned profits to help out it’s poorer and one would say badly governed neighbours in Southern Europe. It is a strategy that is not garnering support in the German nation.
She was born on 17th July 1954 in Hamburg, Germany at 17.45, a Sun sign Cancerian with a humanitarian Aquarian Moon and a outwardly looking Sagittarius Ascendant. The mix of Sun and Moon shows that Angela has a social conscience, her emotions go out to help people. She is an innovator, very security conscious and will protect her position and those who support her as much as possible. Angela will be very sensitive to the needs of other people & she will do whatever she can to foster good relations. As with all those with their Sun in water signs, if things don’t go the way she wants, she can get very moody as well.
AngelaMerkel natal
There is much Aquarian influence over Angela. Her Sun is closely in contact with Uranus and the Moon is in Aquarius. You know looks can be deceiving. This lady is very much an individual, quite quirky, plus her instincts will encourage her to go out on a limb and stand her ground. The Sun and Uranus are a very stubborn combination in this regard, and it may get her into trouble if she decides on a course of action in disregard to others advising her. It is very interesting that the Sun and Uranus, as well as Pluto (associated with big business) and Venus (associated with social affairs and personal possessions) are all in the 8th house of other people’s money, and her current stance over the debt bail out is the one causing her trouble. With 4 planets in the 8th, interest in big business, investment & finances will have coloured her life. Uranus here always indicates someone who favours free market economics, Uranus does not like barriers. Angela’s relationships will be emotional, intense and stormy with both Pluto, Venus and Uranus in this house, although you won’t know it. The Cancer Sun and Scorpio influence (8th house and Pluto) will mean that both her husband and any problems will be kept strictly out of the public glare, firmly behind closed doors. Angela will also have a interest in scientific subjects, she studied physics at university and also more taboo subjects too like life after death, maybe astrology and the occult, and I am sure that she will be an inventive cook. Cancerians love their food and Uranus adds ideas and the need to experiment.
The Sun and Uranus make a square to Neptune and the Midheaven. I always say that the Sun and it’s position show a picture of the father and with Angela’s chart it describes him perfectly. He was a Lutheran pastor, a man of the cloth. The link from Sun to Neptune (the spiritual planet) shows this clearly. The interesting part is that despite living in East Germany, he was allowed to preach in West Germany, travelling across the Iron Curtain border without hindrance. The conjunction of Uranus, the planet of freedom and humanitarianism connecting with both Sun and Neptune indicate the privilege he had. In Angela’s life this square highlights that she has a social ideal and dream that she wants to share through her work in service to others. Neptune is in Libra which if anything accentuates the community aspect of this. It is also conjunct to Saturn. Saturn is in Scorpio the 10th, a very heavyweight placing. Angela has a deep overriding desire to administrate, to control & to be in charge, to be a respected person of stature in the world. Neptune adds a preaching element to the mix and through to the Midheaven we have a connection to being at the top of the tree. A sneaky liking for being in the limelight is also given by Neptune being in the middle of the sandwich between Saturn and Midheaven. She will be very hard on herself and also on others around her. Letting go of that controlling tendency to allow other people to do their job, will always cause friction in her life and in her relationships.
Being a social servant of others is also shown by the Moon in Aquarius which is in the 2nd house of finance and personal possessions widely opposite to Pluto. Her emotions are cool on the outside and turbulent on the inside, as well as being fickle. Sometimes she will be passionate and involved, sometimes cold and uninterested. The connection to Pluto shows that on an emotional level, at least once in her life, she will ditch all her ties and start afresh, and it is known that she divorced her first husband Ulrich, and she then remarried. I can imagine there would have been a battle over finances in the split, Moon in the 2nd opposite Pluto in the 8th will fight for their own possessions and money with fierce determination.
That determined streak to win in any battle is shown by Mars trine to Pluto from the first house. Mars is in Sagittarius showing a wonderful pioneering spirit, a Sagittarian Ascendant needs a challenge to keep them going. There is a definite sense that she is someone with boundless energy, full of grand plans and big ideas; although she must also be careful not to promise more than she can deliver. Angela will get most offended if she is not listened to, and if her ideas and philosophies are rejected, then depression can set in. Mars is retrograde in her chart indicating that the energy she has is internally focused and will be turned in on herself, frustration may well be something that beats her up inside, rather than externally venting it on those around her.
Mars makes a tight quindecile to Jupiter and Mercury in the 7th house. Here is someone who will be aggressive and very quick off the mark in debate with others (7th house). She will love the cut and thrust of discussing theories, philosophies and policies and sharing them with the public. She will not mince her words with Mercury trine to Saturn; she will be a straight talker, getting down to the bare bones of an argument or discussion without any fuss. Her brain will work on a deep serious level and she will be able to handle complex problems and ideas in a thorough and methodical approach. Jupiter and Mercury often indicate a talent for teaching and this is one avenue she may well take up once she leaves politics following her mother. Jupiter and Mercury are in conjunction with the Nodal Axis (the maternal axis); Angela’s mother was a language teacher – Mercury accentuates communication and Jupiter shows the international nature of it. The Moon in the second (the other indicator of the mother) shows that she served the public.
Mercury through the trine to Saturn makes a grand mini trine to Venus in Virgo. She will be interested in and will appreciate beauty & fashion, but her own style will be in a straight-forward and unfussy manner, rather more functional than haute-couture.
Problems do look as if they are on the horizon for Angela on the work front. Looking at the transit chart first, the standout aspect I see is Saturn approaching a conjunction with Angela’s Midheaven at 17 Libra. This aspect which becomes exact in September is a double edged sword. Saturn hitting the zenith of a chart is a time when all the chickens come home to roost, everything that you have been preparing for workwise in the previous months and years comes to completion, with either good or devastating consequences. Looking to where Saturn and Capricorn is placed tells me that Angela during the first pass will lay down the law but in the process, her authority will be challenged (Saturn in 10th house) and as such her self worth will be hit (Capricorn on cusp of 2nd house). Saturn will then go on to conjunct with Neptune at 23 Libra and in the process square to her Sun/Uranus and sextile to Pluto; Saturn will finally return to this degree in May, June and July next year. This is a very depressing, downbeat, disintegrating type of influence that is connected with the finance problems which are surfacing now through the connection to the planets in the 8th house. By extended house rulership, the 2nd, 8th, 11th and 12th houses will be hit most  - self worth 2nd, other peoples money and big business 8th, party issues and alliances 11th, and a lack of personal control over things 12th. What happens to her at this time will be the result of other people’s decisions.
AngelaMerkel transits
On the Solar Arc Charts, SA Pluto sits on Angela’s Midheaven which shows a transformation in progress of her public image. SA Neptune is also making a sextile with her Midheaven, putting a cloud over her authority. SA North Node and Ascendant are both quindecile Pluto showing her making a stance and putting her firmly in the public eye. Finally in one year’s time, as transiting Saturn completes it connection to Neptune, Sun and Uranus, SA Midheaven will conjunct her Ascendant. A time for appreciating one’s achievements, but also a time for moving on? I don’t think so, although after the latest set of transits her authority will be much weakened. Angela is one tough, tough cookie and will take some shifting, she won’t go without being pushed. However in 2013/14 as SA Venus starts to connect with Angela’s natal Saturn, the time of the next scheduled elections in Germany, I think she will either be voted or forced out. Libra rules her Midheaven and so any transit or progression to or from Venus will affect her position as Chancellor.

Marg Helgenberger – CSI actress bowing out at the top. A look at her horoscope and her character

Posted on 2:01 PM by Unknown

marg_helgenberger

Marg Helgenberger in the past few days announced that she had decided to leave the hit TV series CSI “Crime Scene Investigation”. I for one will be sorry to see her go, as it is one show that I have been hooked on since I discovered it – must be my Mars in Scorpio that draws me in. She leaves at the end of series 12 after an incredible 11 year run playing the character of Catherine Willows.

Marg befitting of someone who is in the programme a forensic detective, is a Sun Sign Scorpio, born on 16th November 1952 at 09.38am in Fremont, Nebraska. She has a cool yet very glamorous Aquarius Moon and a free and fun loving Sagittarius ascendant.  The Sun sits in the 11th house of friends groups and receiving love in conjunction with both Venus and Jupiter. This is a very fun loving combination full of optimism, love and generosity, yet also deep, emotional and secretive with it. Marg will be very popular with all her friends and colleagues and will be very generous to causes that she finds worthy. Marg’s mother did suffer with breast cancer, indicated by the Moon (which represents the mother) receiving a close square to Neptune which does weaken the health and a nasty inconjunct (150 degree) aspect from destructive Pluto. As such, this is a charity that Marg has taken to her heart.

MargHelgenberger natal

That Moon is in Aquarius in the 2nd house. This is a very caring place for the Moon to be placed and often you find this is the place of the social servant, somebody who needs to put themselves out to the public to be judged. In acting you put yourself out to be criticised every time she makes an episode. With the Moon in Aquarius, Marg will shine in the limelight and glare of the TV and film cameras, she will love the attention, but as with all Aquarius placements there will be a cool air to her, hard to get close to. This is echoed by Saturn sitting in her first house. The motivation behind her acting career will be monetary and the ability to build security and a comfortable life for herself. These she will closely guard and add to; often the houses of people with second house Moon are a veritable treasure trove, they never throw anything away and are great hoarders. Antiques and collectibles will definitely catch her eye.

Gathered around the Sagittarian ascendant we find Saturn and Mercury, Saturn in the 1st house and Mercury in the 12th. Marg will have a serious side to her personality. She will tend to be careful in any project she takes and will approach it in a mature and disciplined manner. She will appear as the strong and silent type, only offering up an opinion when she absolutely has to give one. Saying that, she will have a very methodical mind, excellent powers of concentration and no little intelligence; this is one smart lady. With Saturn and Mercury in trine to Uranus, she will embrace any technology and scientific forms of progress, so long as it can be proven useful to her; she will have a healthy scepticism of life in general. One thing that Marg will be very conservative in will be her beliefs. She will take her politics and faith very seriously, so much so that her she may prevent herself from appreciating other peoples point of views just through her own rather dogmatic ways. Marg is very stubborn having no less than 7 planets in fixed houses. When she digs her heels in, not even heaven and earth will move her.

We find Neptune in the 10th house of work and career. Neptune here often conveys a confusion especially when young in the direction one wants to go career wise. Neptune does have medical connotations and the desire to serve, and Marg growing up had a desire to be a nurse like her mother was. Notice the link back to the Moon in the social serving 2nd house, her mother (the Moon) cared for people. Of course, Marg found acting and Neptune here is a lovely fit as it rules creation films and TV. Neptune makes three connections to other planets, one to the Moon, the second to Jupiter in conjunction and third to Pluto in the 8th house. Both Pluto and Uranus are found here. Pluto in the 8th is strong sitting in it’s own house. It gives Marg an interest in death and the darker side of life. Before she took on her role as Catherine Willows, she visited autopsies in progress to research her role. Typical of a Sun sign Scorpio to go to exceptional lengths to get it right. Combine the 3 aspects to Neptune, Jupiter and it’s traditional connections to the law, the Moon and the need to be in the spotlight with Pluto and the dark side and you have the synopsis for CSI and the reason for her success. Indeed, had she not been an actress, her chart would have lead me to think that a career in investigation would have been very suited to her.

Uranus also is in the 8th and so Marg’s life at times will be subject to dramatic change, Uranus makes a trine to her ascendant, so all of a sudden she will cut her ties and go off in a new direction. True enough, when Marg announced her divorce to her husband Alan Rosenberg in Dec 08, transiting Uranus was square to her ascendant and quindecile to Pluto signifying a significant change in her life. Previous to December 2008, Uranus would have made a square connection to Mercury, ruling her 7th house of permanent relationships through Gemini on the cusp of the 7th. The problems with her husband would have started at least a couple of years earlier.

In love and in relationships, Marg will be passionate and very emotionally involved. This shown by Venus sitting in deep Scorpio opposite to Mars in the 5th house in Taurus. Mars opposite Venus is very amorous and very determined in getting the object of one’s desires. She will be very forward and determined, so when she falls for someone, she will make sure she gets her man. Mars in the 5th loves sport, competition and games of any description, there is a huge desire to be number one.  Marg will have huge reserves of energy, able to work and work until she drops. It takes a hell of a lot of commitment to do 12 series back to back of any TV series, let alone one as complicated and involved as CSI. She certainly had the commitment and desire, but now she has decided that it was time to move on. Looking at the transits it is easy to see why.

MargHelgenberger transit

Everything on Marg’s transit chart has been saying to her change. Uranus which I spoke of earlier has been sextile to her natal Moon, Cancer ruled by the Moon is on the cusp of the 8th house of change. Transiting Pluto is sextile to her natal Neptune, encouraging her to find a new TV role and is trine to it’s own position in the 8th house of change. the transiting North Node is exactly conjunct her ascendant, a shift in her life path is now due, and transiting Saturn is exactly conjunct her Midheaven, representing her public role. Saturn is reinforcing the message to be ambitious and to move on while she is at the top. Astrologically, for her it was exactly the right thing to do – maybe with Pluto & Uranus in the 8th house and an interest to unusual subjects like astrology, an astrologer advised her. Not myself I might add. With a great and successful TV career behind her now, I am sure it will not be long before she will find a suitable role to get her teeth into.

London Olympic Games 2012 – Potential worries with one year to go. A look at the astrology of the opening day.

Posted on 9:08 AM by Unknown

Olympic torch

In about one year from now, the 30th Olympic games open in London, my home city. I write with just a little pride as we in London prepare to open our doors and hearts to the world. We in Britain are true sports fans, partisan for our own athletes but also fair in praise to others who do well. We do have our own unique style in the UK and despite the weather (it will rain) and the economic gloom across the globe, one thing the British know how to do is have a party. However just before the games begin, the same aspect that has rocked London in August 2011 returns once more. I look at the astrology of the opening day, the one that sets the scene for the month of sport and competition that follows.

OlympicCeremony2012

The opening ceremony is due to start on 27th July 2012 at around 19.30. It is due to end at 22.30, but these things never run to time. So I am basing the chart on lighting the flame at 22.30. This gives a 5th house Sun and Mercury conjunction in proud Leo, very apt for an event embracing sport and competition. This makes a mini grand trine with Uranus in the 1st house and Jupiter on the cusp of the 2nd and 3rd. Uranus in the 1st trine Mercury is all about technology and as we know Britain is one of the world’s leading creative forces in graphics and design. Watch out for some stunning technical effects in the opening ceremony. Jupiter at the point of the mini grand trine and is in Gemini. This says communication out to the world, a multi cultural experience. Seeing as the stadium itself in Stratford in the heart of the East End which is a melting pot of cultures, I am sure that the highlight of these Games will be the open accessibility to all peoples & nations. Jupiter is optimistic and jovial, this is going to be one long party.

There is a very dynamic t-square from Uranus in Aries in the 1st house to Mars in Libra in the 7th square to Pluto in Capricorn in the 10th. Here is competition at it’s fullest with so much Aries (Mars) influence with a social angle (Libra) striving for the ultimate achievement (Pluto). Uranus makes a quindecile to Saturn in the 7th – this aspect equates to pushing back the boundaries – will there be an exceptional amount of records set in these games? One the debit side the Mars, Uranus and Pluto square is an inherently dangerous aspect and the potential spectre of violence, disruption and terror will hang over the Games. The exact hit of this square comes in the week preceding the opening ceremony. In seeing what has happened over the past few days in London, and knowing that the same aspect taking hold in one year from now as the one that is causing mayhem in London right now, I genuinely fear for what may happen. One thing I am sure of is this. Londoners are a stoical bunch, and there will be a severe reaction from us towards anyone who tries to ruin this celebration of sport and of our city; something we have been preparing 6 years for.

Venus in the 3rd is colourful, creative and elegant. The venues are exceptional and iconic (I include a few photos at the bottom) and Venus makes a trine to Saturn showing a connection to the structures & buildings in the Olympic park. In this aspect there is an aspect of security (Venus is ruled by Taurus) which will be much heightened during the event.

The two other planets in the chart will be peregrine (unaspected by any major aspect) when the games are opened. It is quite unusual for one to be peregrine, for two is most unusual. The Moon in the 8th in Scorpio and Neptune in the 12th in Pisces. Both of these two planets will dominate the chart. The Moon in the 8th in Scorpio smacks to me of big business, yet with no aspect, there is a disconnect here. The Olympics need the finance of big business to exist, but unusually no visible advertising is allowed to be shown during the games around the venues. With a quindecile (not a major aspect) to Jupiter, these games financially I believe will be a roaring success.  The other planet is Neptune, here is the dream, the aspiration, the spirit, the cheating and deception. With Neptune so prominent in it’s own sign of Pisces, I fear drugs and controversy will rear their ugly head once again.

Have a look at some of the pictures from the Olympic Venues. Here’s hoping for the city of London and any threat of potential trouble goes away because if we have peace and good weather, it’s gonna be fabulous…
