David Haye v Wladimir Klitschko – How do the two heavyweight champions stack up against each other?

Posted on 8:05 AM by Unknown

David-Haye-v-Wladimir-Klitschko

I love doing this type of astrology, pitting man v man, one chart against another, who has the better planetary set up on the night. This fight to be held in Hamburg on Saturday 2nd July in the evening promising on paper to be a barnstormer. Two heavyweight champions going toe to toe and they genuinely (from the press coverage) seem to get on each other’s nerves. Do they, is it just a charade? What do the stars say? And more importantly for fight fans, who will come out victorious come Saturday night?

Right in the red corner we have David Haye, born 13th October 1980 in Bermondsey, South London. Incidentally, I do not have a birth time for either fighter so it makes my predictions and analysis a little less accurate. David is a Sun Libran closely conjunct to Pluto. Libra is a social sign and Haye will like to think that he is a man of the people. Pluto contributes to the Sun a huge determination for personal recognition. Pluto Sun is sextile Neptune, so David will sacrifice (Neptune) everything for personal glory. David’s Moon is in Sagittarius, the placement of an adventurer, somebody who aims for the stars. A Sun Libra and Moon in Sagittarius needs an active life and social interaction, so will enjoy a party. With a square between the Moon and Venus in Virgo, David will be a lady’s man too, and a discriminating one at that! He has to be careful not to let this potential distraction for a party lifestyle get in the way of the serious preparation for a fight. Luckily, He also has a Saturn/Jupiter conjunction Jupiter in Virgo and Saturn in Libra. This contributes a nice balance to his whole chart. Yes, David will enjoy himself (Jupiter), but Saturn’s inner voice will tell him when to get down to business.

DavidHaye natal

David will be driven by fairness and justice, he won’t mind so long as there is an even playing field so to speak, allowing the best man on the night to win. If he thinks there is injustice in the air, it will really anger him. Jupiter in Virgo also contributes to being able to see the big picture, yet also being able to focus in on the details needed to make a strategy work. In a fight this is crucial, being able to analyse and discriminate and change tactics if needed. The Saturn/Jupiter is sextile to a volatile Mars/Uranus conjunction crossing over the Scorpio Sagittarius cusp. Here is endurance, Saturn Jupiter sextile Mars , huge enthusiasm Uranus/Jupiter and a wild vicious streak Mars/Uranus sextile Saturn. Mars in Sagittarius and Uranus in Scorpio is aggressive and unpredictable and Haye fights like this with swinging hooks and uppercuts. He has a free and easy boxing style (Sagittarius) yet is brutal with it and has a killer instinct (Scorpio).

In the blue corner is the slightly older Wladimir Klitschko. Born in Semipalatinsk, Kazakhstan on 25th March 1976. Wladimir is a forward thinking Aries with a Moon in Aquarius. Again, here is a man who want’s to be socially significant. Aries is impulsive and wants to be the best and Aquarius has a social angle to it. Vladimir will want to mix in glitzy circles to make him feel good. Coming from the backwaters of Kazakhstan, I suppose Vladimir has used boxing to achieve this aim.

WladimirKlitschko natal

The chart is based around 3 oppositions which make 2 t-squares. Like Haye, there is a Sun/Pluto aspect, this time an opposition, thus again a drive for personal fame backing up the Sun/Moon combination. There is also a free and easy Jupiter/Uranus opposition which instils a great need for personal freedom. This squares onto the Aquarius Moon. To get the freedom and social status and glamour Wladimir craved, he had to take up a career where he would be able to travel. This is born out as on the other side of this opposition is a wedge formation – a sextile and trine coming off the opposition with Mars at the point. The way out was through fighting (Mars). Like with Haye, Mars connects with Uranus in Scorpio, this time in a trine as part of the wedge, so you still see the killer instinct and brutality of Scorpio, however Mars here is in defensive Cancer.

Saturn is also in Cancer and Saturn is the planet associated with fear. There is a huge desire here to protect one’s personal security. Straight away, without even seeing the boxers fight, one knows that Wladimir will have a far more considered defensive style than Haye does as the Cancerian effect will kerb that aggressive Mars trine Uranus. Saturn trines to Mercury which adds huge concentration and steadies the mind. Wladimir won’t mind repetitive, tedious work (he rather enjoys it) and one thinks he will hide behind a sledgehammer jab, while Haye comes out swinging, waiting for the moment to strike. Vladimir’s Mars is square his Sun, which can show anger and possible impatience. What Haye has to do is to stoke up the fire in Wladimir by baiting him, and maybe he will lose concentration allowing Haye to pick his spot. Astrologically it is a beautiful match up, attack versus defence.

Putting the two charts together, there some irritating aspects between them that stokes the fire up even more. Haye’s Saturn opposes Wladimir’s Sun (Haye will tend to dominate Wladimir’s personality), Haye’s Saturn also squares Wladimir’s Mars, this is very annoying as they will be at cross purposes with each other and Haye’s Uranus trines to Wladimir’s Saturn. This describes the match up beautifully – the unpredictable Haye against the solid and more conservative Klitschko. Interestingly in all three of these key planetary match ups, Haye’s planet is the slower moving. I was always taught that if there was a connection between planets, the slower moving one would always dominate the faster moving one. On that score then, Haye to win.

Haye v Klitschko

Ok, how does the current planetary positions affect each boxer? Wladimir has some rather difficult transits on the night of the 2nd July. Transiting Uranus is conjunct his Sun so he will be rebellious and erratic, maybe a shock is coming. Transiting Uranus is also square natal Mars, so he will be accident prone (or liable to get hit on the chin a lot). Transiting Jupiter will be square to natal Moon, so possibly emotionally complacent and opposite natal Uranus, will he be too open for his own good? The real clincher for me that he will have a bad night is a couple of Sun Pluto aspects. Natal Pluto squares Wladimir’s Sun and the transiting Sun squares natal Pluto. Pluto always shows transformation, something must be destroyed before new growth can be made. In this case, it is Wladimir’s life which has to change. The square aspects mean that this change is inevitable, something that he will be unable to withstand. To me it tends to signify the end of an era in his life. Looking at the more long term Solar Arc progressions, Wladimir does have a lucky SA Jupiter sextile Sun and SA Jupiter trine Moon, which signify reward and success however he also has SA Uranus sextile Pluto and SA Pluto conjunct his natal North Node. Both these progressions suggest a changing of the status quo, moving on to pastures new.

WladimirKlitschko transits

With David Haye against the same planetary setup, the picture is a bit kinder. Transiting Mars will be opposite natal Moon and square natal Venus. He will be impatient and in a selfish mood.  It will also be quindecile to natal Uranus, Haye will be liable to take big risks. Transiting Uranus will be quindecile his natal Sun which is excitable but also reckless and Uranus also opposes natal Saturn. This says to me that progress (Saturn) will only be made if he takes the risky (Uranus) route. In essence, this aspect is encouraging Haye to go on the attack. If he does, he will move on in his life. Haye does also have transiting Jupiter quindecile natal Sun. This a driving ambition for fame, success and reward. This is the “I am the greatest mentality” and a very lucky transit. On the long term Solar Arc progressions for David there are just 3 active just now. SA Mercury trine natal North Node, signifying a meeting with others in a public arena (the fight) and weirdly SA Neptune square natal Sun and also square natal Pluto. Neptune is incredibly difficult to equate as it can represent from inspiration to the loss of ego, even deception and illegality. According to Noel Tyl, SA Neptune square to Pluto can come up with unusual problems, peculiar experiences and even death experiences. Maybe a controversial verdict will affect him in some way?

DavidHaye transits

Right, down to prediction time. Just on what I see in the astrology alone, I favour Haye to win over Klitschko, possibly by knock-out in the early to mid rounds. The longer it goes, the more I see an even fight. As I am British, you will expect me to favour the London boxer, however Haye’s Solar Arc transits from Neptune do worry me somewhat. Maybe there will be a strange happening, or unexpected event to throw doubt over the whole evening – maybe a strange decision after 12 rounds by the judges?

Overall I just think from what I see that it is Haye’s time to shine in the spotlight, while Wladimir’s transits suggest that he is ready to move on to pastures new. However, this is heavyweight boxing after all, and nothing is 100% certain. Many weird happenings have happened in the ring before, and will again, and I would never advise anyone to bet on the outcome of the fight based my predictions alone, especially as Neptune is heavily involved on David’s progressed chart. If you do decide to do so, it is at your own risk.

Who do you think will win and why? Please feel free to comment…

Enjoy the fight and may the best and strongest fighter win…

David Cameron – Standing firm while the storm clouds gather.

Posted on 12:48 PM by Unknown

David Cameron brolly

Starting today at around 6.00pm the Public Sector unions go on strike over pension reforms for a full day and a half strike. Workers like teachers, custom’s officers, public employees in courts, job centres, tax offices and even driving centres will all stop work, as Britain grinds to a shuddering halt. Even though the public finances are in trouble and few argue against that cuts do have to be made somewhere, it firmly lies at the door of the Prime Minister where those cuts fall, and by targeting the Public Sector so heavily, Cameron now faces a dire summer of severe discontent, and a battle with the unions. Heard that one before???

DavidCameron natal

David Cameron was born on 9th October 1966 in London at 06.00am (from memory). This give his one of those nightmarish charts for astrologers, with his ascendant right on the cusp of Libra or maybe right at the end of Virgo. A few minutes either way in birth time makes the difference. In such cases with the Ascendant on the cusp, I like to try to find a blend of the influences, blending the harsh critical edge of Virgo with the socially aware side of Libra. This means that all the angles, Ascendant , IC, Descendant and Midheaven are treated in the same manner. This being the case, the personality he will portray is of someone who does have the values of careful housekeeping which is very Virgo but with a social conscience (more Libran). Cameron in an interview described his  political views as Liberal Conservatism – pretty accurate portrayal of sitting on the astrological fence, by the man himself.

Ok we do know that David is a Sun Sign Libran with a wide conjunction to Venus in the first house. A first house Sun is normally very self-assured and confident of himself. To lead is one’s role in life if you have a 1st house Sun and he will tend to clash with strong like-minded individuals. David has to to feel in total control, however he will have to network and share ideas; Librans need to network to get on in life. This is quite at odds with the first house Sun, so how to we square the circle? I feel that David will use his charm  (Sun & Venus in 1st) to coerce friends and associates to help him to get him where he needs to be & then he will tend to disregard these contacts once their use has come to an end – in short, he will use people to progress. Bad news for Liberal Democrat coalition partner Nick Clegg then!! Maybe these politicians should consult us astrologers before making important decisions of who to support? Venus in the first likes to portray a neat smart appearance, a touch of vanity perhaps? Certainly, David is almost always seen in a sharp suit, and even in his more casual moments he looks as if he has just walked out of the menswear section of John Lewis. Venus in the first is also very kind, sympathetic and popular, and David will always give a helping hand if asked to aid someone.

The Sun makes a sextile aspect to the Moon in Leo, just into the 10th house conjunct to Jupiter. The Moon in the 10th needs to run things themselves and will not like to be seen as subservient, doubly so in regal Leo. This is a position that prefers to invest time at work rather than time at home, and this can lead to problems with partners and family if the work/life balance is not correct. Moon conjunct Jupiter is tolerant and forgiving, will to give a second chance if mistakes are make. Watch out for this if ministers overstep their brief or upset the public. As PM, it can be seen as a sign of weakness.

Moon/Jupiter is square to Mercury in Scorpio in the 2nd house of finance. As well being interested in finance and money related issues, Mercury here in Scorpio will be adept with the hands in making things like sculpture, pottery, even doing mechanics. Alongside Mercury in the second house is creative, dreamy, escapist Neptune. Quite appropriately, one of his loves at school was art studies. He also studied history and of course with a second house Mercury, economics. Mercury squares the Moon and gives David that interest of history, the past, nostalgia and patriotism. He will be a confident public speaker, has a talent for listening and will have a genuine interest in the lives of others. Anything with a human element will fascinate and engage him. David will have grand plans and ideas, but may gloss over the important details when questioned, just because he failed to consider them all. That’s always the problem with Jupiter, promising more than you can deliver. The “Big Society” is so very Jupiter in description, yet nobody, including David himself it seems, knows what he means by the slogan. It just sounds good. David will also love travel, and I am sure will get away to foreign shores at the drop of a hat.

Following on around the chart, we find Mars in Leo the 11th house peregrine (unaspected to any other planet). This Mars will tend to dominate the chart. In Leo and unsapected, this Mars is very pushy, very proud, very arrogant and does not take no for an answer. David will always be right and will throw tantrums if he isn’t. Now interestingly Mars in the 11th is the ultimate team player, however just as he will be part of the team, David will just have to be captain. Life for him will be a competitive sport, and he will have huge will to win. Mars feeds into the Midheaven by trine, as does Venus and Mercury. You can see the focus towards his career (Midheaven) like an arrowhead as well as another one to authoritarian Saturn (his ambition). Sometimes astrology is easy, to see the focus in life you just look at the patterns and they tell you the story.

Now then, there is one very difficult aspect on David’s chart. A very nasty Uranus/Pluto conjunction in Virgo in the 12th house opposite to the Saturn I mentioned retrograde in Pisces the 6th. Whenever I see an opposition including Saturn along this axis including Virgo and Pisces I immediately think “health”. Saturn retrograde shows that the love from the father was missing in some way in the younger years, and as Saturn is so afflicted by this heavy opposition, it was no surprise in researching this piece that David’s father had both legs deformed and was forever in hospital having surgery to correct them. Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) sits on the cusp of the fourth house on the parental axis, reinforcing my assumption that his father suffered with his health. Aquarius ruled by Uranus (part of this opposition) is on the cusp of the fifth house, the house of children. Tragically, Ivan their first child had severe health problems with cerebral palsy and a rare form of epilepsy. He passed away aged just 6. With Saturn here in the 6th house, David naturally takes his personal health very seriously and is known to religiously keep fit. Nonetheless, no matter how well you keep yourself in trim, if the planets indicate a weakness, then when difficult transits come along, those weaknesses will be exposed. Those also with a 6th/12th house opposition or with Saturn that I have looked at (Steve Jobs and Serena Williams) have both had major health issues in their lives. As far as I can see, David should be fine in the next few years and I hope that he has seen the last of his family tragedies for a long while to come.

The Uranus/Pluto generation of the mid/late 60’s was a generation that wanted to sweep away restrictions and make a difference to the world. I am one of that generation, and I try to do this through my astrology in service to the public. I try to change public perceptions and open their minds to new ways at looking at situations. Like myself, Cameron has a Uranus/Pluto conjunction in the 12th house. He tries to change perceptions through service to the public too. With David, that service is through administration of things (Saturn) – in government. Trine to Neptune, that governance take on a more ministerial or preaching approach which may appear quite condescending in tone. Trine to Jupiter, over time David will learn when to push and when to hold back, when to be optimistic and when to be more sober. That will only come with experience in the top job, and hopefully the pride I mentioned of earlier will not get in the way of the humbleness needed with all the responsibility he wields.

DavidCameron transits

The current situation for David is fraught. Just look at the transit chart and you a myriad of aspects covering every planet and almost every angle and I could be here a week trying to explain every nuance of what is happening in the PM’s life. Let’s just say it’s very, very stressful. Picking out a couple of important aspects, transiting Uranus is square to Cameron’s Midheaven and opposite his ascendant. Neptune trines the Midheaven and is opposing natal Mars. Uranus represents rebellion (those on strike) opposing him and his work position, and is transiting through the 7th house of open enemies. Neptune shows disruption and confusion and opposite Mars in the 11th house of groups and unions, you can see the picture very clearly.  The trine to the Midheaven shows either that Cameron is complacent thinking he will solve this problem easily (Neptune is moving though the speculative 5th house) or he is confused or trying by deception to solve the problem. Uranus and Neptune do not move quickly, so this problem is not going away very soon. I fear a summer of disruption continuing at least into the autumn and maybe longer.

One other aspect from the transit chart I noticed. Pluto is 3 degrees away from a square to his natal Venus. Venus rules relationships and with Libra on his ascendant, any transit to Venus will hit  David Cameron very hard indeed. Pluto when exacting the square will sever a relationship either (professionally or personal). Will it be personal, will the coalition government be on the brink of collapse or will the effect be seen elsewhere away from the Downing Street bubble? Look for the signs around Christmas time this year to find the initial cracks in this particular relationship, although any potential break will not effect themselves until a year later around November 2012.

Ai Weiwei – An artist and activist being pursued by the Chinese authorities

Posted on 4:02 PM by Unknown

ai-weiwei

The brilliant Chinese artist Ai Weiwei has just been sent a 2 million dollar tax and fines bill by the Beijing authorities, just after he was released from detention in a Chinese jail. It seems somebody in the government doesn’t like him, but as ever Ai Weiwei turned the whole episode to his advantage greeting the massed ranks of the world press camped outside his front door. The internationally known artist is using his notoriety to highlight the increasingly authoritarian attitude of the Chinese authorities.

AiWeiweinatal

Ai Weiwei was born on 16th May 1957 in Beijing, China. I have no recorded birth time although I believe that he may have been born just before midday. I base that premise on two things. Firstly at age just one, Ai’s parents were incarcerated in a Chinese labour camp for protesting in an Anti-Rights Movement protest. They stayed there for 16 years. With a birth time of 11.45, this brings Pluto one degree from his ascendant into his first house and by Solar Arc progression, you could see the event that was to shape Ai’s whole life. Pluto transforms, is dark, repressive, traumatic at times. This would have been a most upsetting time for the young boy, having his parents taken from him. This 11.45 time brings Saturn into the 4th house, showing a lack of love received in his growing up process. Saturn is retrograde, highlighting that his father was not around as he grew up and being quindecile to the Sun, he would have been a complete inspiration to him. Ai Qing was a poet and in his father’s footsteps, Ai Weiwei has continued the family tradition of creation and of activism. Finally, it is known that Ai Weiwei is a superb poker player. This highlights the 5th house of speculation and creation. With an assumed birth time of 11.45, on the cusp of the fifth we find Sagittarius, Jupiter’s sign associated with international creation and big risk taking as well as finding the Moon stationed here too in constructive Capricorn. Here is a love of games and speculation, an emotional need to create physical art (Capricorn here brings structure to the artistic process) and a openness of the emotions, very much unlike the staid, stern Chinese stereotype we all know. Ok, Ai can show his emotions, but he can remain cold and aloof too, just like the poker player. The Moon in the playful 5th house is quindecile Uranus. Uranus is cold and calculating, extremely focused, unpredictable. Combined with his Taurean patience and love of financial accumulation, this is the man who can smile at you inanely, while robbing you of all your worldly possessions.

Taureans are very easy going souls, working at their own pace to achieve their life goals. They are the builders of the zodiac and Ai Weiwei in this respect is an archetypal Taurean, having been responsible for the creation of not only physical art and exhibitions around the world but of buildings too, including the fabulous Bird’s Nest stadium that hosted the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Venus in Gemini is widely conjunct to the Sun so not only must these creations have physical beauty, but they also must be socially usable and interactive. A classic example is the Sunflower Seeds piece in London’s Tate Modern – 100 million individually made porcelain sunflower seeds on the great hall’s floor that the public can walk on, touch and feel. – Gemini is the truly tactile sign of them all.  The Sun is trine to Jupiter in Virgo, these pieces must be grand in scale but have included in them incredible detail. Ai can focus on the small things while keeping in touch with the grand sweep of any project, the mark of a true genius. The Sun/Venus conjunction sit in the 10th house if my assumptions are right, a position where the native will want to make his mark on society and the world in general, bringing love beauty and art to the masses.

All these artistic creations would never come to fruition without an inventive mind, and with Uranus square to Mercury, Ai Weiwei will be constantly blessed with new ideas and concepts to work on. Ai’s mind may not work rapidly, but he will have tremendous concentration and steadfastness to see each task out to it’s completion. Here is also the inspiration for him to speak out as a radical in opposition to those in power. That Mercury makes an inconjunct aspect to authoritarian Saturn, a nasty irritable aspect that will carp and agitate. He will upset those in charge as much as they will try to upset him. Uranus squares to Neptune in the third house of communication. This is another highly creative outlet for Ai, he will think in a non-linear fashion (cold hard facts have no logic to him) and his overriding message will be of the dream of rebellion, and of trying to outwit and confuse the establishment. Neptune is in Scorpio and sextile to Pluto, this generation was the voice of the underground rebellion movement.

Transiting Pluto and Saturn have been opposite and square to Ai’s natal Mars recently. Aries ruled by Mars sits on the cusp of the 9th house and it was on a trip to Hong Kong (9th house rules long distance travel) that Ai was arrested before he boarded his plane and the Chinese authorities swooped on his studios. Transiting Neptune at that time was opposite natal Pluto and his Ascendant and trine to it’s own natal position. Pisces sits on the cusp of the 8th house of tax and other people’s money. By Solar Arc progression  Solar Arc Neptune is square to natal Jupiter that sits in the 2nd house of personal finance, another link to the Chinese tax demands. Solar Arc Saturn is square to natal Uranus, those in power cracking down on his activist ways and Solar Arc Sun is trine to Ai’s Natal North Node, so despite all the actions and to the annoyance of the Chinese, Ai’s star is still shining brightly in the World’s public perceptions and his story is firmly in the media spotlight, and so it will continue to be as Solar Arc North node will trine natal Mercury next year. I hope that one day the Chinese will finally begin to appreciate and grow tolerant of the genius in their midst.

Michael Fassbender – Deep, ambitious and a true perfectionist at heart.

Posted on 1:02 PM by Unknown

michael fassbender

Michael is one of the rising stars of the film world right now. Fresh from X-Men 2, he will be seen making a cameo role in a remake of the classic Charlotte Bronte novel, Jane Eyre in September and before the year is out he will star in 3 more films to be released this year and 3 more next year.

Born in Heidelberg, Germany on 2nd April 1977 (no birth time known as yet), Michael moved from Germany to Ireland with his German father and Irish mother at the age of two. A progressive Sun sign Aries, Michael has a critical Virgo Moon. Here is a fierce critic, not only of himself but of others. One would imagine he is very much a perfectionist. The overriding need of a Virgo Moon (the Moon shows need in a chart) is to be correct in all that one does. When someone does not come up to Michael’s exacting standards, he would not be shy to tell them so. Mercury is also in Aries so this criticism would be done in a forthright and combative style. I get the feeling that Michael would not be an easy person to work or live with.

MichaelFassbendernatal

There are three planets in Aries, the Sun, Mercury as just mentioned and also Venus and all of these are opposed by Pluto. The Sun opposite Pluto is deep and intense, this is a man who craves personal recognition and he will keep on going until he receives it. Mercury is quindecile Pluto, the quindecile is even more intense than the opposition and Michaels mind will always be probing under the surface, not trusting anyone fully – even being paranoid of other’s motives towards him. it shows a defensiveness in his character which will appear when he is challenged. This mind is perfect for getting under the skin of a character and getting to the root motivations of why someone acts as they do. For the film Hunger, Michael lost copious amounts of weight and literally went on hunger strike in “getting into character” to play Bobby Sands, just to feel what it was like before he played the role. Michael will seemingly go to any length to get the details of the part correct before he plays it.

The last opposition is Pluto opposite Venus which is retrograde. Venus in Aries is normally very straightforward and sociable especially in love and in relationships BUT Venus retrograde makes one insular. Yes, all the passion and deep emotion from the Pluto opposition is there, but it doesn’t come out on the surface in the normal way. Michael in a relationship will be very secretive, reticent even to talk about his affairs of the heart even to those he knows well. No “Hello” or “OK” magazine spreads for Michael for sure…

The Sun/Venus opposition are the driving planets in a creative kite formation, with Saturn and Neptune on the wings. Immediately you see the motivation of the man. A drive for recognition  (Sun/Pluto) and to make it to the top of his profession through hard work and ambition (Saturn in Leo) in the creation and film world (Neptune in expansive Sagittarius). Saturn is retrograde, so Michael would have missed the love of his father during his formative years. His father was a restaurant chef, so you can imagine that each evening after he had finished school, he would rarely have seen his father, as he would have been busy in the kitchen.

This is such a creative chart. The Moon squares Neptune so there is a dreamy imagination, although one that can be mislead emotionally. Mars in Pisces also squares Neptune – here is more evidence that Michael would never like to lead a drab boring existence. His imagination is colourful, sensitive, poetic and his energies would be directed into artistic pursuits of some sort. Mars trines Uranus so independent ventures will attract him as well as unusual pieces of work and those with difficult subject matters, as well as action roles like in X-Men. Michael will not be one of those actors ever to be type-cast, switching from one type of role to the next with versatility and ease.

Jupiter in steady Taurus shows that he will work to make sure that he will have a comfortable lifestyle and financially he has his head switched on, Jupiter in Taurus is not one to take risks. Jupiter is quindecile to Neptune (everything on this chart seems to feed into Neptune) so he may have intense faith and/or be vulnerable to excess drug and alcohol use. This is another indication that he will want his creative talents (Neptune) be seen on a world wide stage (Jupiter) – he has said unusually that he prefers film to theatre or live acting which is generally against the grain for most actors, but in this case reinforces the Jupiter angle and influence on his Neptune.

Looking at the transits and progressions of the day for Michael, his Solar Arc North Node is opposing Michael’s natal Jupiter so he is favourably in the public eye and Solar Arc Mars has been conjunct to his Sun and opposing Pluto for the past year, so a period of intense work is now coming to an end. Solar Arc Neptune is trine his natal Moon so emotionally he is going to be very settled right now. There are changes coming for him though. On the transits chart, transiting Saturn will conjunct natal Pluto in around a month’s time. This will light up the natal kite and life will not be so easy, maybe with personal and work problems. Saturn will go on to oppose natal Venus in late September/early October so his relationships (work and personal) will come under deeper scrutiny and pressure. If his current ones are on rocky ground than this may be time for a split or break-up.

Rachael Weisz and Daniel Craig – A newlywed couple swimming in the same direction

Posted on 7:21 AM by Unknown

weisz craig

Over the weekend James Bond actor Daniel Craig was married to Oscar winning actress Rachael Weisz. To all accounts, they had been dating since Christmas, so this is quite a swift decision by the two of them to get married.

Both Daniel and Rachael are Sun sign Pisces, Daniel was born on 3rd March 1968 in Chester, England and Rachael on 7th March 1970 in London. For them to have tied the knot so quickly, there must have been an instant connection between them and looking at the astrology it bears out very well.

Craig Weisz synastry

Rachael has a Sun Moon conjunction in Pisces which conjuncts also with Daniel’s Sun. A Sun/Moon conjunction is the archetypal marriage aspect, one partner’s personality merging with the other’s emotions, they complement each other very well. The other really powerful tie between the two is that Rachael’s Sun conjuncts exactly with Daniel’s North Node. There will be a very powerful tie between them, almost like that they have met before somewhere. Some believe that the Nodal axis shows our past lives and our future direction, and a Sun and North Node connection is the indication that indeed these two were together in a previous existence and are continuing to settle issues that were left over from their previous lives.

Elsewhere on the synastry chart, there is a dynamic connection between Rachael’s Venus being opposite to Daniel’s Uranus. There will be an electric attraction between the two. Both Daniel and Rachael’s Mars sit in go ahead Aries so there will be plenty of fiery passion, and Rachael’s Uranus sits opposite Daniel’s heavy Mars Saturn conjunction. She will challenge Daniel to break free from old routines and push him to do new exciting ventures. Will her influence pull him away from the Bond franchise where Daniel has become a household name? One thing for sure is that Rachael’s Mercury sits opposite Daniel’s Jupiter and her Mars trines it too so communication will be free and open and there will be a lovely optimistic feeling to this union. They will need a fair amount of freedom to make this marriage truly work which being actors they will surely get.

On the composite chart which is a more long term view of the relationship. There is a wide yet nice Sun/Venus/Mercury conjunction which is loving and good for communication. Also we see a Pluto, Uranus & Jupiter conjunction opposite to the Moon. This opposition shows plenty of heavy emotion, possibly jealousy if problems arise and a need for freedom and space within the relationship however Jupiter adds a lightness of touch and a willingness to do things together which is very helpful. The opposition forms a wedge with Neptune at the point, very much a sign that this is a creative union (Neptune rules the film industry) and there is a dreamy, fantasy edge to it. Neptune squares both Venus and Mercury so they should try to avoid deceiving one another, less there may be great disappointment however there is plenty of love, kindness  and sympathy between the two. The only other possible down point is a conjunction between composite Mars and Saturn. This can be difficult to live with, when one says go, the other will stay stop, one will be hot while the other is cold. They may be constantly getting in the way of each other, which may need to cutting remarks or sarcasm. Work commitments should allow each other plenty of space and hopefully ease any tensions between them.

Craig Weisz composite

No union is perfect, but these two fish seem very happy in the same pond and I think there is plenty of good aspects to outweigh any difficult ones. Having both been through broken marriages before, I think they will try hard to make this one work and I believe that they have a decent chance of having a long happy life together.

Richard Branson – Facing up to a test of strength

Posted on 12:52 PM by Unknown

richard branson virgin

Richard Branson, arguably Britain’s finest ever entrepreneur has never shirked away from a challenge. After the pilots of Virgin Atlantic yesterday voted 97% in favour of strike action in protest of their pay, Richard faces one of the sterner tests so far of his working career to date, in trying to protect the reputation of his beloved airline.

Richard Branson was born on 18th July 1950 in Blackheath, London at 07.00am.  Richard is a security and family orientated Cancerian in the 12th house with a very precise and hands on Virgo Moon in the first. Indeed, this is a very hands on chart as most of the planets, save Jupiter are located in the Eastern hemisphere of the chart. This man has a me first attitude, seeing things his way. With the Sun and Mercury tucked away in the 12th house, Richard will take the view that his place in life through his work is to serve the public. The 12th house is the house of service and sacrifice to others and quite appropriately Richard’s Sun Mercury conjunction squares his Midheaven representing his working role in life. Until looking at this horoscope I always found Richard quite a nervous and faltering orator and speaker, and though what he does say has a strong message to it (Mercury is in Leo) I suspect this is one part of the business he doesn’t enjoy, or at least he knows he has to do but wishes he didn’t have to. Mercury in the 12th is reluctant to show and share his personal opinions. The astrology backs up my initial opinions, and suggests there is more to Richard Branson than meets the eye.

RichardBranson natal

What does initially strike you and the public’s perception of Richard Branson is his flashy, always in your face presentation, demonstrated by a proud over the top Leo Ascendant and the go ahead Aries Midheaven. Think of fast cars, girls on aircraft wings, the bright red uniforms of the Virgin Atlantic employees, Richard will stop at nothing to promote his businesses and of course having a Leo Ascendant, he will have to be centre stage in all of it. It is really interesting that somebody with a shy retiring service orientated Sun/Moon combination (Cancer and Virgo are not interested in being in the limelight) should be upfront as much as Richard is. The devil as they say is in the detail and this is where Richard really hits the mark. That precise, self obsessed Moon in Virgo in the first house says it all for me. He is emotionally involved in the tiniest aspects of his work, the minute planning, the critical assessment of everything, making sure that the lowest ranking of his employees are felt to be important. Saturn in the second house sitting on his own in Virgo, brings the same attributes, an obsession with the smallest details and hyper-critical, Richard is the ultra perfectionist. Saturn here brings fear, fear that he doesn’t have enough money to achieve all that he wants to achieve. This fear will drive him forward ferociously to work and to work in order to earn. The impression I get is that the bravado he exhibits is all a front, a show to veil a much more insecure man underneath.

The Moon in the first house is a sensitive, caring Moon as well as an independent one wanting to be master of all it controls. His company after all is called Virgin, represented naturally by the sign of Virgo. This is his emotional baby and one he wholeheartedly throws his whole weight and desires behind. Why? Because Pluto sits conjunct his Leo Ascendant, also in his first house. Pluto in Leo in the first will stop at nothing to be the best, and will obsessively fight until the top position in any goal is achieved. I call Pluto in the first house the love’em or hate’em position. Those with Pluto in the first will provoke strong opinions in everyone around them. They can be a tremendous force for good, and yet a terrible foe to face.

Sextile to the first house Pluto is a conjunction of Mars and Neptune in the 3rd house. Neptune and Mars together always brings great charisma and bright ideas, Richard will always be on the lookout for the next big thing. In the 3rd house and in Libra, Richard brings these ideas to the social (Libra) arena. The third house is the house of the salesman and Richard will push and push, promote and promote to get these ideas off the ground. The pitch will always be the same, the first, the newest, the freshest, the most innovative, reflecting his Aries ascendant.

Reinforcing this push for fresh ideas is a trine between Jupiter in the 8th house and Uranus in the 11th forming a wedge with the 1st house Moon via a sextile between Uranus and Moon and an opposition between the Moon and Jupiter. Lucky Jupiter sits in the house of big business and connects with that independent Virgo Moon. Richard was truly born with the aspects of an entrepreneur. As this is an opposition, the business side of it needs constant hard work (Moon in Virgo), however the innovation side of it (trine Uranus) comes easy, think Virgin Galactic – big business ventures (Jupiter in 8th) ideas based around space travel (Uranus). The Jupiter/Uranus connection does have a humanitarian side too. Richard will always be a generous giver to charities and causes that he is interested in. Surrounded by unusual, influential friends (Uranus in 11th), Richard will love chatting, socializing and sharing ideas with others (Venus in 11th).

So why is Richard in the airline business? Look at the North Node, his ultimate direction in life and immediately you see. The North Node sits in the 9th house of long distance travel and through the South Node opposite in the 3rd house you can see his progression in life, from the wheeler dealer of his early business days in music at Virgin Records (South Node in the 3rd as well as creative Neptune, the ruler of music) to the multi billionaire who can afford to run and finance his own airline (North Node in the 9th). Maybe the long distance travel has even further to run as his Virgin Galactic project starts up soon.

RichardBranson solar arc

Now then, lets have a look at what is currently going on in Richard’s world. On the Solar Arcs chart, Solar Arc Mercury is exactly sitting on Richard’s natal South node and opposite his North Node. Mercury in Richard’s chart rules the 2nd House of finance and the 11th house of groups and institutions (unions). Immediately you can see the discussions (Mercury) & disagreement (opposition) now public knowledge (North Node). Solar Arc Mars is square natal Saturn so this is a time where there is a challenge (Mars, also ruling his Midheaven) to his authority (Saturn – Capricorn is on the cusp of the 6th representing employees) and with Solar Arc Saturn square his Ascendant, you can see that this dispute will be hurting him immensely. All his work and the entire reputation of Virgin Atlantic, which until now has been pretty faultless is under stress. So, how will he react? Solar Arc Pluto is half a degree from being conjunct to natal Mars. Noel Tyl comments on this combination of using extreme force, persuasion and control, brutality and excessive effort. It says to me that Richard will not lie down lightly to his authority being challenged. I would bet that in the upcoming stand off with the Virgin pilot’s union, he is going to play hardball – this could get ugly and as Pluto is involved, Richard’s work reputation (Aries on Midheaven) may never be seen in the same light ever again.

***Update 28th June 2011***

Richard Branson wrote to the Daily Mirror releasing a letter sent to the striking pilots. in it he said it would leave  “an indelible scar on the company”. He went on “I believe the offer is fair. I’ve looked at all the facts and believe that our management has made the best offer it can.” Sounds like my suggestion that he would not take this strike lying down is proving correct – so far…

***Update 7th July 2011***

Today there was an announcement from Virgin Atlantic that the strike threat by the pilot’s union has been lifted and an “agreement” has been reached. There are no indications of what that agreement was as yet.

Greece – Financial woe, public unrest, a country in transformation

Posted on 2:43 PM by Unknown

athens parthenon

Greece is a country in a deep crisis. For the second time in less than a year, the Hellenic nation is facing financial meltdown on a huge scale. Riots are now common place on the streets due to austerity measures in place, the government (or what is left of it) is trying to reform but the debt crisis estimated to be in the region of 350 Billion Euros not only is bringing down Greece herself, but also in time bring down the European currency and will shake the European Union to the very core.

The modern Greek horoscope was formed as the Third Hellenic Republic was initiated on 24th July 1974 in Athens at 04.00 hrs. Of course, Greece has a rich history going back many thousands of years and not one chart has ever been proven to be totally representative. The latest chart of the republic shows up very clearly the problems faced right now.

Greece natal

The 24th July chart is dominated by a turbulent square between an intense close Moon/Pluto conjunction in the 4th house and a triple planet Saturn Mercury and Venus conjunction in the hidden and sacrificial 12th. Moon Pluto drags up emotions from the depths of one’s psyche like a volcano if activated, in a country’s chart this represents transformation (Pluto) through actions of the public (Moon). The same intensity is there though, an intensity of emotion that is being shown on the streets by the general public right across the nation’s capital, Athens as the riots spread. The other end of the square on the natal chart, Saturn is the voice of government, restriction and austerity, affecting commerce (Mercury), social activities (Venus) and trine to Jupiter the wealth of the country. Jupiter sits in Pisces ruled by Neptune, not a good sign for Jupiter to be in a financial sense as Neptune and Pisces shows confusion, deception, underhand dealing and just blind optimism. Even though the national debt was probably a problem, the Greeks would have always believed that things would turn out ok in the end. Neptune is the sign of sacrifice and suffering and trine to the Sun, it shows that the country would have to suffer due to the mismanagement of the economy (Pisces is also on the Midheaven representing the government, those at the top). That mismanagement would cause a great public uprising, see the mini grand trine - Sun/Neptune sextile onto the volcanic Pluto/Moon conjunction at the point. With rebellious Uranus in the 4th house of opposition to the government square to the natal Sun (the leader of the country), there is potential for a revolutionary takeover in the future.

Looking at the current situation, the transits to the natal chart look grim indeed. Transiting Pluto, the planet of transformation opposes Venus and squares natal Moon and its own natal position. This is a sign of social (Venus)upheaval (Pluto) and fronted by the people themselves (Moon), a fight to the death. Revolutionary Uranus opposes the Moon/Pluto conjunction and squares Venus too. More fuel to the raging fire. Transiting Saturn squares natal Saturn and Mercury, showing the hard line being broadcasted by those in power. Transiting Neptune opposes Mars, spreading confusion to the police & military forces allowing uncontrolled mobs to take control.

Greece transits

Transiting Mars squares natal Mars showing that there are industrial disputes and conflicts and  despite not being sure how to control the instability (Neptune opposite Mars) , the armed forces and the police have been activated to quell the rebels. Transiting Jupiter squares the Sun as the second financial crisis hits, highlighting the tension over the inflated debts and problems with the money supply.

Looking at the picture overall, transiting Saturn will conjunct the natal Uranus at 23 Libra in Nov/Dec this year and my gut feeling is that Greece may officially go bankrupt as the 8th house signifies the financial relations with other countries. The big question is wether the European Union WILL finally pull the plug on Greece and all the ramifications and problems that go with such a move – Saturn does represent restriction after all?? Significantly looking at a composite chart for Greece and Germany, the composite Sun sits at 20 Libra, so hard decisions may have to be made between the two just before that natal Uranus is hit, and the Decendant on the composite Greece/France chart sits at 19 Libra, so at the same time France may be looking at the relationship as a whole with Greece & will be considering her options too, as Saturn opposes their composite Ascendant.

Transiting Pluto over the next 3-5 years will grind it’s way, towards opposing natal Saturn at 11 degrees Cancer in 2013/14 and finally opposing the ascendant at 13 Cancer in 2014/15. Pluto breaks down old structures allowing new ones to form and by that time, Greece as a country will be completely reformed, however it is going to be a very long haul before Pluto has completed it’s job. Until that time, Greece and the Greek people are going to have to endure a lot of pain and hardship.

Rory McIlroy – The emergence of a golfing superstar

Posted on 11:44 AM by Unknown

rorymcilroy

At just 22, having just obliterated several golfing records in winning the US Open Championship, Rory McIlroy from Holywood in Northern Ireland seems destined to have the golfing world at his feet.

Rory was born on 4th May 1989 and has a steady Taurean Sun and his Moon I estimate is more than likely in level headed Taurus rather than in impetuous Aries after watching his career blossom over the past few years. Emotionally, he seems to have an “old head on young shoulders”, being able to take both victory and defeat in his stride. That would make his birth-time more likely in the afternoon/evening than in the morning.

Rory McIlroy natal

Taking a quick overview of his chart, he has a dynamic Mars in Cancer opposite Uranus in Capricorn giving him a huge urge to win, a fierce sense of independence (needed in such an individualistic game as golf) and an urgent air (notice how he bounces around the golf course). This opposition forms a wedge with his Moon; he will confront any difficulties with a no nonsense straightforward approach, and I would also bet that he does have a mischievous offbeat sense of humour that will keep others around him always on their toes!!

The other thing to notice is a heavyweight wedge formation based around a Pluto opposition powerfully placed in Scorpio to a Sun Venus conjunction. Sun Venus in Taurus is kind, gracious, a need for a comfortable lifestyle and conscious about one’s appearance. Opposite Pluto and beneath this kind thoughtful air is a desire for power and personal recognition – Rory will stop at nothing until he has conquered all around him. At the point of the wedge is Neptune and Saturn in close conjunction in Saturn. Rory takes his dreams and ambitions very seriously and will get lost in his thoughts and goals in an almost spiritual or zealous yet determined way. With such an individualistic and ambitious set of tension aspects, is it no wonder that he has risen to the top of his chosen sport so quickly? I venture to suggest that the deeply ambitious wedge in his chart will keep him there at the top for a long time too.

Mercury and Jupiter sit in conjunction in Gemini which will give him a jovial air and an optimistic attitude and way of speaking and communicating, he certainly as all Irish seem to do have the “gift of the gab”. This conjunction also suggests that he will be interested in teaching and giving back something to the sport he loves when he gets older. He may also take up a career in broadcasting on TV or radio when his playing days are coming to an end.

Rory’s win came as he had a very supporting trine from Saturn to his natal Jupiter, a step up the ladder of life so to speak. Transiting Jupiter was conjunct his natal Moon, sextile Mars and trine to Uranus. That independent need to be first, learning lessons in a matter of fact wedge was being lit up by Jupiter the planet of fortune and international success. Didn’t he learn his lessons well after losing out at the Masters tournament just two months ago? Notably as well transiting Neptune is now exactly sitting on his North Node (his destiny point). All his dreams (Neptune) were finally coming true in a most public (North Node) arena.

Sarah Palin – Unpredictable, controversial, and back on a bus to blitz the US.

Posted on 5:28 PM by Unknown

Sarah Palin

Wether you love her or just can’t stand her, one thing is for sure. It is impossible to ignore the former Governor of Alaska, as she fills more column inches on the internet, the media and the newspapers than Barack Obama himself. As she starts her national bus tour, very reminiscent of the political “battle buses” the political leaders climb aboard before a UK election to tour the country, one wonders if she harbours an ambition to challenge the incumbent President in 2012, or is this a stunt to build up a powerbase before having a clear shot in 2016? With Palin, it is hard to predict, as her natal chart, (born on 11th Feb 1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho at 21.44 – disputed birth-time), is one of the more unusual that I have seen.

Sarah Palin’s chart is dominated by Uranus and Aquarius, and I mean dominated!! Sarah is a Sun sign Aquarius in a close conjunction to Mars and Saturn, if the 21.44 time is accurate straddling the 4th and 5th houses. Also in Aquarius we find both the Moon and Mercury, so she acts like and Aquarian (Mars), thinks like an Aquarian (Mercury), reacts emotionally like an Aquarian (Moon), has Aquarian ambitions (Saturn) and what is more all those planets save Mercury have stressful aspects to Aquarius’ ruler Uranus, which itself is in a hard-line conjunction to Pluto, the aspect that defined the revolutionary spirit of the 60’s. Talk about an overload of one planet!!

SarahPalin natal

Aquarius is the mover and shaker in the heavens, the planet that more than any over casts aside the old guard and ushers in new fresh ideas and attitudes. Aquarius through the planet Uranus represents revolution, rebellion and unpredictability. It also gives a severely social edge to anyone, wanting to do the best for the people in a purely humanitarian way. You will find Aquarian people have a severely glamorous edge, this is an electric quality that crackles and fizzes with enthusiasm; there is a real edge to the personality. Finally, there is the cool detached Aquarian, the one you just can’t get close to but are fascinated by. Sarah has all these characteristics in her chart and and more.

Ok, down to the details. The Sun as I said is part of a powerful conjunction with Mars & Saturn. Here is serious, determined ambition (Saturn in the 5th), Sarah will take the world on her shoulders to get to where she wants to be, without the help of others. That place is somebody who is special, recognised and notable in some way. Sarah seeks attention and adoration. With Mars on the cusp of the 4th & 5th houses, the influence of Mars will blend into the two. The Martian spirit to be first will come through, this is one tough ultra-competitive lady, who will hate to being beaten by anyone. However, with these planets in Aquarius she will go about this in a unique way, if necessary using shock tactics to hammer her point across. This is underscored by the quindecile to Uranus from the triple conjunction. In essence, Sarah is obsessed with bring in a new type of conservatism to gate crash the old politics that have dominated the American political scene for a long time now. With Pluto connected to Uranus by conjunction these ideas are harsh, hard-line and in some cases very extreme. It is interesting that she and Glenn Beck teamed up on the Tea Party project. They are astrological twins, born one day apart and both affected by very similar aspects, they sing from the same Aquarian hymn sheet looking to usher in new values, rebelling against the old Republican line. Wether this is too radical a step for the American people to take at this juncture will be down to them and their consciences. However a bus tour around the whole country certainly from the outside looks like an attempt at the very least to soften them up and to get used to the ideas and ideologies that she has. One other thing before I leave this segment, being Aquarian, watch out for her using technology, Twitter, Facebook and any other social media forums to get her point across – she naturally is very tech-savvy.

Returning to the Sun, Mars Moon & Mercury in the 4th house, here is a lady who very much likes to keep home as a private place and with the Moon here, I can guess that her mother would have been a big influence on her life. Mercury and the Moon here indicate a love of history, heritage and the past plus a love of books and reading, Sarah despite her image will be very well read and she will love to write too. Her book “Going Rogue” says all you need to say about her, with yet again a very Aquarian title. Sextile to Mercury and the Moon is Venus in the 6th house. This aspect gives Sarah a charm and caring edge, especially in one to one encounters, as well as considerable artistic flair. Mars and Sun quindecile Uranus hints that family life in the Palin household will be punctuated by temper tantrums and disagreements and the atmosphere will be quite chaotic, however with the Sun and Moon in the 4th all this will be kept tightly under wraps.

Jupiter all alone in the 7th house is peregrine and sits opposite her ascendant. This is a very positive position and this positivity and optimism will shine through her personality. It indicates a fruitful and enjoyable married life, she thoroughly enjoys being a wife and being opposite her ascendant gives her abundant good fortune, she will feel that she can get away with murder. Jupiter unconnected to any other planet will encourage her to do everything in a BIG brash way. The bus tour is a good example. She isn’t visiting just targeted states, she is travelling around the whole country. The Jupiter influence also extends to her faith which she will openly acknowledge, she was born into a Roman Catholic family and she has described herself as a bible believing Christian.

Now we come to the real fly in the ointment for me. Connecting to the Sun Mars Saturn conjunction by square aspect and to the Uranus Pluto aspect by sextile is Neptune placed in the 2nd house of self-worth and finance. Wherever you find Neptune it casts a cloud of confusion and deception, maybe of rose-tinted optimism over whatever it touches. Neptune in the second could make her either confused or deceptive over her financial dealings, the joint aspects to Pluto and the Sun indicate that some elephants could be hiding in the cupboard somewhere along the line; the square may encourage her to embellish the truth. In my experience, taking that course of action always comes back to hurt you later on. Neptune square Sun always wants to take the least line of resistance. Neptune in the second house is often the position of someone who makes their money from creative mediums like TV and film and radio. Already Palin has had a headline spot on Fox News in the US.

If Sarah does officially decide to run for the Presidency, I will look at her suitability for the position in a following post, however just by looking at her chart I would guess that creative media like TV and radio will offer the former Governor of Alaska a far more fulfilling career long-term, as I believe her views are far too controversial for majority of Americans to take and I think she would buckle under the pressure of such high an office, with that troublesome and debilitating Neptune square Sun, Mars and Saturn. Time of course will tell…

Ryan Giggs – Life unravelling at an alarming rate

Posted on 12:02 PM by Unknown
man-utd-ryan-giggs-cropped

For two decades, Ryan Giggs has been an icon of British football (soccer). Playing for the top team in the country Manchester United, winning countless league titles, cups and awards, Ryan has been the embodiment of the professional’s professional, dedicated, hardworking, talented and notably in this day and age of overpaid prima donna footballers, out of the news especially with regard to his family life. He was the model sportsman. However, there were skeletons in the cupboards that were revealed by the press. Trying to protect his image, Ryan got a court injunction to stifle the increasing rumours that he had been discovered having an affair. Those attempts miserably failed as his name and a Welsh reality TV star were spread all over twitter and the internet of having had an illicit relationship. Now the cat was truly out of the bag and another 7 year affair, this time with his brother’s wife no less, has been unearthed by a national newspaper. It is amazingly reminiscent of the Tiger Woods saga, and as the headlines continue to bite, his life and more than likely his marriage is continuing to crumble around him.

Ryan Giggs natal

Ryan was born on 29th November 1973 in Cardiff, Wales (I don’t have a birth-time for him, if anyone reading does know please can you email me). He is a risk taking Sagittarius in a vey close conjunction to inspirational yet deceptive Neptune. His Moon is either in serious Capricorn or detached Aquarius depending on Ryan’s time of birth. I have looked carefully at his chart and I have estimated him to be born around 17.20 which would pull his Moon just into Aquarius. What I can say for definite is that his chart is based around a rather spontaneous and unstable Mars in Aries opposition to Uranus in Libra. Mars in Aries stops at nothing, it will do what it wants to do and Uranus in Libra rebels against traditional forms of partnership like marriage. That opposition squares onto Venus in Capricorn conjunct the Moon I talked of earlier. Moon/Venus is very generally very kind hearted, sympathetic to children and loved ones, however if the Moon were in Aquarius, Ryan would be able to turn his feelings off and on at will  & the Moon here is also far more liable to emotionally more fickle than a more seriously minded and conservative Moon in Capricorn. One could imagine he would be seriously confused emotionally, between the experimental t-square pushing him forward to look for emotional excitement and his more down to earth family orientated Venus Moon conjunction.  In his day job, Ryan has been known for his electric pace and trickery, perfectly described by Mars opposite Uranus.

Moving onto the Sun/Neptune conjunction it is at the point of a grand mini trine, sextiles from which fan out to a Jupiter/Pluto trine. Sun Neptune is a dreamy combination, found in the sign of Sagittarius, those dreams are BIG dreams, Sun/Neptune however does also has the ability to deceive and as part of this mini grand trine, deceive in a big way too. Jupiter trine Pluto is generally lucky and normally is an indicator of success at work, which Ryan certainly has been being the most decorated player of his generation.

Looking at the rest of the chart, there is a tense square between Pluto and Saturn which is retrograde. This aspect can be very difficult when hit by transits and progressions, heralding a complete transformation in the life brought about by difficult circumstances. It also indicates a very troubled relationship with his father, baggage that I would suggest he has brought into his adult life. Interestingly, when his parents split, Ryan chose to revert to his mother’s maiden name “Giggs” rather than keep his father’s surname which was Wilson. Finally, we have a peregrine Mercury unconnected to any other planet on the chart by major aspect which tends to dominate the chart. Mercury is in Scorpio, indicating deep concentration on any tasks that one turns their hand to, including complete dedication in one’s work, something no football fan could ever doubt . One could imagine that Ryan could be quite adept and creative at making or creating things, especially with his hands. On this rectified chart, Mercury would be in the 6th house, giving Ryan incredible desire to perfect his technique and skills and incredibly adept reactions.

The transits chart show that Ryan is under great pressure right now. Transiting Pluto suggesting transformational change is now opposite his natal Saturn and square it’s own position, thus activating that rather nasty natal square between the two planets. Transiting Uranus, the planet of the unexpected is opposite natal Pluto. Remember, Uranus is at the heart of that natal t-square and a 17.20 birth-time would place it in the 5th house of love affairs, an indication that personal transformation (Pluto) would be of result of these shock allegations (Uranus). On the progressed chart, progressed Mercury is trine natal Mars and sextile Uranus, again activating that natal t-square and bringing the allegations into the public arena through communication (Mercury represents the Press and the internet). If my assertion about the birth-time is correct then the progressed Moon would be in the past month exactly square to the deceptive Sun/Neptune conjunction, the emotional (Moon) deception (Neptune) coming to light affecting his whole life (Sun).

John Edwards – Charged over campaign funding abuse

Posted on 9:47 AM by Unknown

John Edwards

This is a story that I have been following from here in the UK for a while now (to see my previous post please click at the bottom of the article). Today a court in South Carolina formally charged the former Presidential candidate with using funded money to cover up an affair with Rielle Hunter who worked with Edwards on his Presidential campaign. Edwards allegedly paid her off to cover up the fact that he fathered her child.

Having a glimpse at Edward’s progressed chart, something I had not done previously the events of today are very much highlighted.

   JohnEdwards progressed

Edward’s progressed moon is passing through his first house exactly square to his Neptune/Saturn conjunction, the one I mentioned in my previous post that I believe deluded him into believing that he could get away with the alleged fraud that he has been charged with. The Moon rules his chart and so any aspect it makes or transiting planets make to it will affect him acutely. Saturn square Moon means of hard emotional lessons learned and those lessons include deception (Neptune). Widening out the picture, Saturn with Capricorn on the cusp of the 7th house rules his personal relationships and legal affairs (remember the 7th is Libra’s house -  the scales of justice) and Neptune through Pisces on the cusp of the 10th house rules his public image and career prospects now tainted with the allegations of the deception and cover-up. One other aspect of note on this chart is that progressed Mars is exactly to the minute conjunct his South Node and thus opposite his North Node. Edwards is firmly in the public eye (North Node) for all the wrong reasons. Mars natally sits in the 12th hidden house and Aries is totally encompassed in the 10th house; there was something hidden about his personal ambitions. Now Progressed Mars has entered the 2nd house of self worth, and in order to protect his personal standing Edwards used the money his followers had invested in him (8th house of investment and other people’s finance). Unfortunately for Edwards, Mars’ conjunction with the South Node which is normally a tough connection has brought these dealings into the public domain.

Looking at the Solar Arcs chart for Edwards, one aspect screams out. Edward’s Solar Arc Midheaven is now just 3 seconds of a degree form an exact square to transformational Pluto. In Astrologer Noel Tyl’s own words on this Solar Arc square, this is a time when “past mistakes can be opened to view and threaten ruin”.

John Edward’s life from here on in will never be the same ever again…
